As you all already know I have my Childcare Business that I do. :) It has grown so much! I am so happy about it.
Well now, my sister and I are also getting into another business together. We are Special Occasion Designers! We will be decorating for weddings, and all other parties!
I uploaded this picture so you could all see what we will be doing. =)

Well good luck! I wish there was more of a market here for these things. We are very rural and weddings tend to be back yard or park affairs during the warm months and fire halls and church basements in the cold months. No one has the money to hire people. My SIL in NJ sells Partylight and works with a wedding coordinating group. She does great selling her candles and such as center pieces.

Thanks! We already got our first client and we have not even opened our business completely yet. SO excited! :) This is a very good start.
We live in a military town so there are lots of weddings and parties here and in a few towns a few hours away. We will be traveling if needed as well. =)

Be sure to keep a photographic portfolio, with your watermark on the pics so others cannot steal your pictures. If Facebook has a buy sell trade group for your community that would be a place to advertize. My future dil does childcare and has a page called Sweet Temptations where she posts pictures of weddings she does, and cookies and things she sells. You will do great. All the best.

Wow..you really are going to be busy!! Your decorating business sounds fun and it will give you a break from the kids and allow you to spend time with your sister and other adults. Just make sure you don't over do things and get over tired. Best of luck to you!!

Yes I am! Lol. But this is going to be a blast! I had SO much fun helping with the projects for my sister's wedding so I know I will love this. :) And yes, I will get a little more time with other adults now too. Always a good thing. =) I will try not to over do myself. We already have our first client and we don't even open until April 9th! Lol.

It is good to be your own boss! Great to hear your Childcare Business is doing well and now you are having another business on Special Occasion Designers with your sister. This could bring extra income for you! So, I guess you will be more busier from now on having two businesses to take care of. Congratulations! Yes it is! I have been doing the Childcare Business off and on for 10 years now. :) This new one is exciting in a different way. I will be busy but I am happy about it. Thank you. I am sure they will both continue to go well.

hi LMB, I hope you do not mind I address you this way. It is shorter...haha. I am glad your Childcare Business is very well establish by now and I believe you will have a lot publicity and gaining many chidlren for your Childcare Service.
Yeah, Special Occasion Designers business is great.It can be very interesting and will surely have a lot of interaction with many people. By getting to know more clients for this new business, you could also gain more business through this for your childcare service as well.

I will be very busy. I will have time for both because the wedding one isn't every day or even every weekend so I will have time off to still do my Childcare as well. :)

Wow...congratulations! From the looks of the picture you posted you do really nice work! 2 of the Mom's at my children's school started a business like this. The first year or so was a little bit of a struggle for them but once word got out and people actually started to see their work...the business has skyrocketed! They do awesome work...I automatically thought of them when I saw your pic. Hang in there even if it is slow at first. They did alot of small things at first like at our church and the school...now they are doing weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays, showers, etc...Good Luck!

I do know when you start any business it is tough. My childcare business took a while to get off the ground but now it is thriving so much! =) We will stick it out and keep pushing through.

I wish you good luck in your new business adventure and I am sure that it will be successful. I am hoping that I can get mine started online soon, but lately we have had some issues with our power company (and still are) which kind of makes me afraid to start anything. I am glad that the child care business is also going well.

Thank you bunnybon. Oh no, I will always make time to be here on MyLot! My home is here with tons of family, I could not be away too long. Besides, it won't be like a full time job-just extra work on the weekends or something. We will make sure we plan it out to leave us some time for our families and other things. :)
