Baking Cupcakes

I bake cupcakes for everyone's birthday in my family. Today is my husband's birthday and he requested Lemon Cupcakes. I just tried one and think they are great and he is happy to get them fresh. They are perfect like out of the oven. His favorite flavor is lemon and mine is chocolate with a lemon filling. Which do you prefer a filled cupcake like me or not filled like my husband?

I love the ones you mentioned, as they were a big hit last year for my daughters birthday. They disappeared really fast and my daughter asked for them again this year. Thanks for posting and my husband has been playing his new Playstation 3 Games.

I prefer an unfilled cupcake with frosting on top, a chocolate one.

Thanks for posting. A chocolate cupcake would be great right now, as I'm tired and would like a little sugar help to get through the day.

filled or not, i like cupcakes if it is moist and is chocolate cupcake, or chocolate covered cupcake or has chocolate as filling! lol. now i am hungry,

I love chocolate cupcakes and if its not a chocolate cupcake, then I'm hoping the filling is chocolate. Chocolate always cheers me up and makes the end of the day better no matter what happened during the day. Thanks for posting.

I love cupcakes of all kinds. I have two favorites one would have to be chocolate with chocolate icing and coconut on top. The other is chocolate with raspberry inside and chocolate icing. My daughter bakes cupcakes for all the birthdays and she makes them fresh from scratch and they are better then a bakery in her area that makes only cupcakes. She would love to open a business but she does not have the funds for such an endeavor.

Several years ago I considered opening a bakery, but the high costs kept me from doing it. The land in this part of the country Southern California is so costly that renting a building would mean I would have to charge a high amount.
One of the local cupcake makers moved their cupcake business to an ice cream parlor, but I don't see a lot of cupcakes being sold. I don't think the cupcake place will be in business long.
I do agree that homemade is the best and you have so many options for fillings, icing and the flavor of each cupcake that you can please everyone. I use to make cakes for birthdays, but when my daughter was a teenager her friends would all want something different and because of allergies I started filling requests. The cupcake made it possible to give each person a great treat and not have to watch others eat.
