Do you feel that eating fruit after a meal really helps?

Although it is not a habit with me to eat fruit after a meal, my friends say that it is very good to eat fruit after every meal. Is it so? Is there any proof for the benefits of eating fruit after meals? Sometimes I do take bananas after lunch or dinner. Somehow it has not become a habit for me till now.

The benefits for me are getting the vitamins needed from food instead of a bottle and I'm eating a healthy snack after dinner with lower calories than a pie of pie, cake or ice cream. One challenge a lot of people have in the United States is weight, as many are trying to lose weight sometime during their life.

I also think it is good to eat fruits instead of snacks and also other bakery items.

it is not necessary to make a habit for it.. taking fruits are good for health and after meal will help for digestion... my family used to take fruits after meal too.

Hi, We should eat fruits. they are very nutritious. But I read somewhere that we should not eat fruits after meals. Because our stomach is full. We should eat fruits in the morning. But everyone has habit of eating fruits after meals. I also have the habit of eating fruits after lunch or dinner.

Hai Cudamani, I also heared that to eat fruit after a meal is good for health. Ayurvedic and other medical field is also telling to have a fruit after the meal. It is good for digestion. In Kerala during the marriage etc we will give a banana after the meal. Have a try.

Sometimes I had fruits in between meals as well as before meals. However, I read from one article saying that eating fruits before meal enable a better absorption for the nutrients. Whereas, having it after food may have less absorption and probably will rot and become ferment in our body. The reason being fruits are more easily digested as compared to solid meals.

fruits contain vitamins and minerals that are needed by the body. in order to have a well balanced diet, you should also eat fruits. it is not necessary to eat fruits after a meal, you can eat these anytime during the day. some have fruits for snacks while others eat these right after a meal. i haven't heard of any extra benefit to the body from eating it right after a meal.

I think it is a good habit to eat a fruit after meal and it is good for health. Bananas are good for health and helps to improve digestion. I think apples and bananas can be taken after meals.
