Can computers and the Internet be dangerous?

Computers have completely changed the course of what humans use to do with their spare time. I personally experience a time when Computers where not the center of attention and internet was not made public yet.
However To give my views on those computer missing eras of our lives, those days where frankly the boring days where time seem to taunt and play with me as it had nothing better to do its self.
But is a computer our friend or foe, With so many viruses, scammers & spammers and not to mention the lawless-ness of the worlds wide web. I personally do not want to travel too deep down this rabbit hole In fear that I might find the darkest disturbing things imaginable.As much as i am a adventure seeker, It would be wise to practice a level of caution and security for the things you don't want to be exposed to and a setting your browser up the right way will sure help.

I guess its a matter of discipline... and time management... yes computer do change our lives some good and bad...so its up to you... =)

For me, It depends on the situation because we student's, use some technology like that and it depends also how you work on it.

Actually when you don't know how to use something, it is potentially dangerous.Same is the case with computer and Internet.Job of computer is to simply the things and internet is to provide the knowledge and easy communication,but when we are not aware of best possible ways to use them then we can get into trouble.Also there are people who misuse things which are meant to help ,hence all these problems occur which you mentioned.Best wishes.

Hello again diva or hakinnen! Sure, computer could be dangerous for people. If you just sit on your chair and watching your computer for long time, it can be dangerous for your eyes. Your eyes perhaps get sick because the computer radiation and it happened to me and i spent a lot of my money to cure my eyes. Computer also had bad influence in attitude especially the internet. In the internet we can watch a lot of mature movies from youtube and that can be influence especially to the childrens who watch it

Every thing has its negative aspect but we can not ignore it as usefulness of that particular object is more than its danger.Careless handling of electricity and electric appliance may take your life in a moment but we can not go without it.The necessity of computer and mobile in our life is more than our relation with relative and friendship

Yes it can be dangerous if we use it too much, computer and internet is addictive, it can be also dangerous to our health because of the radiation of the computer, like me not i'm wearing eyeglass because of to much exposure to computer radiation, and also i noticed i suffer back and arms pain when to much using computer computer. I'm using computer for 10 hours everyday

a coin has two sides; head and tail. depend which side a person likes. computer and internet have given a lot to this era and have changed the world scenario. so their generousness are negligible. but for a useless fellow like me it is wastage of time.

Hi friend, welcome to mylot. You are right, computers changed our life a ;lot and it is really hard to imagine a life without computers. Since we are very much depend with computers and it is useful in each and every field in this days. Each and every thing is having its own pros and cons, in the same way computer is also having its pros and cons, if we use it in a good manner we will get benefits with it.

everything will never be dangerous if you will put some limitations and with some precautions.Some may considered computer as a very useful instrument in acquiring knowledge especially when it comes to modern technology.In my own perspective, I embraced much the value and benefits computers and internet are giving us!

Hi ! It depends on how a person uses it ! Personally it is of great used to me ! I can earn some pennies here and i can can enrich my knowledge . I can also connect and interact with people coming from different colors and flags. It can broaden my perception of different tribes ,its culture and tradition .

I guess the computer is innocent above all these information, the only one needs to blame is the user since people by nature wants to explore, do things that are harmful, always curious and most of all always not contented for certain comfort given by any device that cause a lot of innovations and changes

I fully support your logical thinking, but do you feel that humans are actually made for computers or are computers made for humans, to clarify my question: I heard someone say that we receive small amounts of radiation from computer screens and wonder if computers are going to promote our health or handicap us as humans, more and more?
