Linux is a good OS, the only thing i think it took is about user interface and how to use it. i heard it a command like OS, and it can be a little bit hard for people who are not interested of informatic.

If you are considering Linux, then Ubuntu is a very good distribution to choose. It will be difficult initially, but not as hard as it used to be because a great deal of the basic tasks can be accomplished by the graphic user interface just as you would with Windows. Of course it will be necessary to learn some command line if you intend to use it to any great extent, although there are many sites online that will guide you through many of them and you should improve quite rapidly. The main issue for myself nowadays is the boot loader, which is now GRUB2. I became quite familiar with GRUB and used to reconfigure the text and the boot screen quite competently, but GRUB2 is much more complex.

It's a bit of a switch, but from the little I've used Ubuntu, it hasn't been difficult to learn the basics. It is useful for IT because it is open source and much better for coding and programming than Windows because you don't need to jailbreak it.

I think you should try out the LIVE CD(or DVD) first and see if you like it. Everything's free for Ubuntu but you won't get as many softwares as you'll get for windows.

I simply have no idea about linus OS. I understand that perhaps it is not as easier to download and work on it, as compared to others.

Hi, It won't be hard to switch from windows. Linux GUI is simillar to windows. And when you run it you'll see how fast you'll accommodate in it's enviroment. LIVE CD is good advice. It would be best to run it first to see how it looks like. Better question is why would you switch to Linux? Windows has better support and software developers are targeting windows users far more than Linux. Linux is free, but it can give some headaches with some software and hardware. Maybe you should determine is your hardware or software fully supported with linux to make sure there are no compatibility issues. Best regards :)
