Are you high? No, really, are you?

This sent me into hysterical giggles when my dad told me this story, although I'm sure it isn't as funny to you. Last week my dad was having a ton of trouble with his allergies. He took too much allergy medicine (against my politely given advice) and as a result of it drying him out, his eyelids started almost rolling up.They wouldn't just stick to his eyes, they were actually rolling up on themselves. He agreed to use eye drops if I'd get them, so I did and he used them. But he was still looking weird. So a lot of you may remember my dad has a helper come in twice a week to watch my mom when he's at church (he's the pastor). The helper's denomination actually attends church on Saturdays, so it works out well. Anyway, so Wednesday night my dad is ready to take her home, and the lady finally just comes out and asks, "Are you on something?" My dad is like, "Huh?" She tells him he's bug eyed and it looks like he's on something. Of course my dad laughed and assured her he was not. When my dad is relating the story to me I'm just dying of laughter over the phone. He's starting to laugh himself as he's telling me. Have you ever been accused of something so far out there, so off of your personality, that you just had to laugh? I guess you'd have to know my dad, but if you knew him, you'd get a kick out of it because it's just so far out there.

Me? No.. I'm accused of being a B**** and honestly I usually am, LOL. Hubby was once accused of being racist.

It would make me terribly angry to be accused of being racist.

Even worse if your step-son were a mixed race.

I know since he is a pastor that would be highly unlikely! But still a bit funny! Too bad you didn't get a photo of his eyes! That would have been so funny! My sister was swimming once and she jumped off the high board and her eyelids flipped back over her eyes! She looked so weird!

No, this has not happened to me but I'm sure some people might have thought I was taking something when I'm talking to them on the phone and my dentures are loose. What happened to your dad is hysterical and I did get a good laugh out of it. I can see this happening very easily too...I'd probably ask him myself, haha. I hope his eyes are affected by the dryness..that almost sounds like it hurts. Hope he's feeling better now and he really needs to drink a ton of water to re-hydrate himself. I'm still chuckling though because you told the story so well.

He is doing better. He just doesn't listen to me. He thinks I'm bossing him around. So when I told him taking two of those allergy pills a day was a bad idea according to the directions, he did it anyway. And when I gave them the eye drops he pretty much poured them into his eyes. Which you aren't supposed to do. However, I was loathe to make him cranky with me so I just let him do what he wanted. I didn't think it would hurt him in the long run. Hopefully though, he learned his lesson about the allergy medicine. He constantly drinks water though. So that's good.

I sometimes experienced this, being accused of something in a funny which is obviously not.. SOmetimes, my girlfriend accused me of being angry, even do I am not. Maybe its because of my body gestures and the way I speak. Its my natural way. I just can't explain why...

I can feel the laughter in your post. I believe that your dad is a very happy person which can make a persons eyes look different. I can imagine how funny the question sounded to your dad. Love this!

Hi Ambie That is so funny I somehow understand how it all went and especially since your Dad is the pastor I have heard of many people having reactions to certain allergy medication or even cold medication. I cannot say this has happened to me but this sure was a funny discussion.

Not I, but my daughter has really large pupils, and people have made comments. Turns out to be some sort of a hormonal thing...

I got a kick out of it and I do not know your Dad. But I expect that if I saw him then maybe I would be thinking the same thing. No I do not remember anything like this happening to me like this

I can see the humor in it! Just reading it gave me a chuckle. I don't remember of ever being asked much of anything. But one person I worked with me said..."you are really nice. I didn't think you would be.' I was kind if shocked, because i was fairky new on the job, but it was because I didn't smile and laugh much she thought I was mean. That just made me laugh.
