what is our greatest aim in this lifetime? to be rich? to be an achiever? to love or be loved? or simply, to be happy?.. nothing beats happiness i guess. happiness goes with almost everything else. you can't be truly happy when you are not satisfied. and being truly happy is an inner attitude. it depends on how you see every circumstances in your life. how you look at the people, how you understand every situation, how you reflect. It is hard to achieve. and nowadays, i can say that it is one of the rarest feelings you can feel. the feeling of being truly happy.

I agree with you. Sure, money is important. I don't think anybody would decline being rich. But I would rather be happy than just have those material things.

yeah.. if wealth would take away my true friends, family, and other loved ones, i'd rather live a simple life.. eat 3 times a day and be merry with the people i love.

Ultimately, happiness is everybody’s aim. People want to become rich because they think they can be very happy with their wealth. And , in a way , they are right. Some people are like that. They like to show off, they like to live a life of power and prestige, they want pomp and show and all this makes them feel very happy. Just the thought that there is a billion dollars in their bank account can make them happy.

oh no..sometimes, having great wealth leads you to depression..more ambition..more power..to the point that you lose all your loved ones.. loving someone and being loved by a lot of people is the greatest treasure

I think that is the main reason the humans are doing different tasks everyday. Not only human but almost any alive thing in this earth who has the emotions gets satisfied and happy. The happiness comes in many ways. It is just the amount of happiness that one wants in life, differs from the others. Some people live happy all the time, and others don't. So I think you are right enough to say that happiness is an attitude, some people have the attitude to always remain happy, so they remain happy.

Three years ago, I ask help to God almighty. "I want to be happy". Every time I pray, I keep on asking this. Then one day, The answer was given Happiness is a choice. It depend on us on where, when we are going to be happy. Try to inculcate in our mind. Today is the only thing for sure. It's a now or never moment. Smile and be happy.

That's very basic for us humans, we aim happiness. Sometimes I am willing to give up money, fame and popularity for a peace of mind. We can be happy even if we don't have tremendous things to enjoy. We also value contentment and peace of mind in order to have genuine happiness.

Agree. I think satisfaction is another thing we aim to have. But being humans, we never get satisfied in life. We still invent things to make life convenient or for other purposes of making life better. I guess satisfaction is long battle to feel happiness. And true happiness will be as simple as a candy for a child or seeing your children again when you get older. Hope you find your happiness ;)

yes. we search and search. sometimes it even costs us our health, money, or even loved ones. but we never realize until it's too late that true happiness is within our hearts.

yeah we have dreams..big dreams. maybe for our friends, children, family, or for ourselves. but as long as we do everything with all our heart and we feel contentment within us, that is fine... we must not be greedy..sometimes we think that having a lot of worldly possessions can give us happiness. but sometimes, it just gives us a more complicated life.

Life is long and not easy,so we need to know how to entertain ourself. Attitude counts and simple brings us lot of happiness. So learn to be content about life is important to all of us. Have a great day and it's lucky to be loved. I've changed a lot and thus I get to know more about life and love.

that's so good to hear. we must always aim to change for the better..not for the worse..if we strive, im sure that we'll achieve what we want..sometime more than that.

cylle_06 Happiness is also a choice. It's one of those 'simple but not easy' choices. If it were easy we would all choose to be happy all the time. Other things get in the way and we need to continue to practice calm and happiness or at least not go to extremes in negativity.

true.. there are a lot of factors that tests our patience sometimes.. and also tests our positivity.. but nonetheless, we must strive to be the best that we can be.

The greatest aim of this lifetime for me I guess is to NOT make the mistakes I made before, and for all faiths to have one understanding in common and that is not to mix culture, faith and tradition and be pompous and arrogant - and for everyone to be of one mind as far as God - that there IS a God and we are on our first journey. We will expire, be brought to life again, and have that second journey which will be all-telling all-encompassing, and the final spiritual state you will reach. So to some extent you have it right and one of the feelings you experience IS one of the rarest; to be truly happy. For some people truly happy is a watching a great sunset; however, for others it is making the bond payment on the house. Truly happy is much more than just being happy. It needs to be explained.

all we have to do is learn..and by learning, of course, we try to avoid those mistakes that we did in the past. right?.. what's the purpose of experiencing something if we won't learn from it..

why don't you try to focus your self on the positive side. and just believe that we're all meant to have what's best for us. try and be more positive.
