For the past couple of weeks, a friend recommended to me that I should try rubbing some apple vinegr to my hair before washing it to reduce the amount of white flakes as well as reduce the itchiness on my scalp. I'm kind of doubting this, but it also feels like a legitimate method. She says that youndon't need an expensive apple vinegar brand, though she said that she has been using it foe quite some time and it's been helping her out a lot. This almost feels like a prank.. Especially since she started telling me about this at the beginning of April.. Is this a prank or something helpful?

I think you look up this information first, online to see if it really works, I have never heard of something, like apple Vinegar stopping flakes in your hair. [em]thumbup

It could be very helpful to you. Apple cider vinegar restores the acid mantle that our scalps (and skin all over) has naturally. Soaps (shampoos included) are alkaline and strip the acids away. You may need to use vinegar for awhile before you notice it, but it should help. The only reason I am cautious is that some dandruff and itchy scalp can be caused by infections of some sort or even by hormonal imbalances. Vinegar isn't magical, but if it's common dandruff and itchy scalp, it will make a big difference.

i think that you should look it up first before you commit to it. when people recommend things to me, i always do. why don't you try sulfur shampoo and scalp oil. you can buy that at a beauty supply store. did you not try that already?
