It's really none of my business but I have to voice this opinion because it does tick me off about how some mothers don't know how to dress their baby/toddler. There have been times where I've seen the mother with long sleeves and pants while their child is in a t-shirt and a diaper! I'm in disbelief at seeing it because the child HAS to be cold! I mean, come on! You dress your child the same way you dress yourself. If you're wearing a coat then your child should be wearing a coat. If you're wearing long sleeves then your child should be wearing long sleeves and so on. What's is your opinion in this?

Who is this stranger on Mylot. Good to see u on here. It's been a long time. Hope all is well w/u. U are soooooooo right about dressing a baby like u are dressed. I think sometimes the mother worries about whether they look cute instead of whether they are comfortable or not.

Hi sweetheart Jo! It's me my friend! Yeah it has been a long time. I've had a lot on my plate for a very long time and had to take some time off to grieve and that I have and still am. It's getting better though ever so slowly. I just wish my parents house would sell and fast but I know it will in due time but it's never fast enough for me. Hubby and I just cut the grass and did all the trimming and vacuumed and mopped the floors so it'll be presentable to show again. Always something to do! Always! As for the discussion at hand, some people just weren't meant to be parents not alone, good ones!

Thank you Jo.... The sooner it happens the better. Did I tell you I have mom and dad's pets? They had 5 cats and 2 dogs so now I have 16 cats and 5 dogs. Never in my life EVER thought I'd have so many! At least they're all fixed so no babies will be born here but still! That's just too deg gone many. I think I talked my hubby into buying a small barn and put box like shelves in it so that the cats can have their own place to go in and out of the rain or sun. Not all of them of course but a good number of them. Some of them have become dirty and started to spray around my house and we just can't have that. We've had to put up a screen door in the entryway to the mudroom to keep them from coming in the main house and spraying which limits the little dogs from being able to go outside when they need to. UGH! A catch 22 situation so I'm hoping to fix that once and for all by getting a small barn and teach the cats that it's for them. The sooner the better for our sanity!

It all depends because one children even baby's and toddles have there own body temps. Some will be hot when you are cold or you will be warm and they will be cold. Generally I dress my kids to what the weather is like and I dress myself for what I feel is right for me. I tend to be on the cold side so I always have a jacket. Both my 2 year old and 7 month run on the warm side. My toddler will take her jacket it off or kick blankets off if hot or out them on if she is cold. Now my 7 month I go by how he feels. If he feels really warm then I take things off and if he is really cold I put clothes on him. Now and infant won't be able to control there temp so yes they need to be covered for the most part even I the summer. Or when a child has a fever you do need cover a baby because having long sleeves and stuff on will increase there temp and not decrease it which can cause brain damage to an infant.

My child would wear the same as I'm wearing because it's the right thing to do. However, if they were to get hot, I'd take something off or put something else on such as a short sleeve shirt. If it's cold or chilly out, I'd put on some shoes and socks to keep their little feet warm. The parent is the parent and the child is the child and that's how it should be however, when the child is old enough to decide what they want to wear, then that's ok as long as the weather permits it.

Just because a parent doesn't make them a parent and parents don't always know best and you do not know what is best for other people and there children. So that is why your thoughts on ho another child is dress is none of your busyness . A child might be a child but that doesn't means they do not know there own body and what is or isn't right for them. We do know have a yet age to who is too you g to too old to know what to wear when and how and an adult doesn't have a right just because they are the parent to assu,e that they know there children's body is too hot to too cold.

I do too and is why I started this discussion. How would these idiot mothers feel if they were dressed in skimpy clothes in cold weather? They feel cold! What makes them think their child is any different? I don't get people sometimes.

I absolutely agree!! Nothing makes me madder than seeing a child with hardly any clothes on when it's only 30 degrees outside. My kids had a field trip in 2nd grade and it was so cold outside your hands were numb. This girls mom was along in a down jacket with gloves and this baby girl had on a t-shirt and leggings. My husband ended up giving her his jacket!!

Some people were born without a lick of common sense. NONE! It boggles my mind how they make it in this world! Book knowledge galore and not an ounce of common sense.

The sad thing is I really don't think she did!!! My boys are now 13 and I'm telling you some of the things that parents let go on is insane. There will be kids out walking the neighborhood in 20 mile an hr wind with 25 degree air temps. I'm talking at night!! I taught Mother's Day out for several years and parents would drop their kids off with dirty clothes and they were dressed to the hilt!

I find it annoying.I used to babysit for a woman who would send her 3 year old over in a diaper with snow boots on in the middle of summer and no coat in the winter.

And they wonder why their child is sick?! Duh?! Idiots! It never ceases to amaze me how people care for their kids. Where is their common sense? They don't have any!
