Juggling responsibilities

Being a stay-at-home is definitely not easy. Aside from taking care of my baby, I have to check the household and most of the time, I also do some errands. But after this, I'm free. And since I'm the type of person who doesn't want to just sit around doing nothing, I also engage in different online income opportunities so that I'll be able to earn money for myself and at the same time, keep my mind working. But being both a stay-at-home mom and an online worker is difficult. I have to juggle different tasks and responsibilities in order to fulfill everything that needs to be done in one day. To do this, I always make a schedule and jot down a "must do" list for the day to make sure that everything is taken cared of. So far, proper scheduling and time management is working well for me and I am able to finish everything. How about you? What are your ways in order to cope and finish all your tasks for the day? I would love to hear your thoughts! :)

It is true, household chores and a stay-at-home mom's responsibilities never have ending. It is a big task and one could never finish doing them within a day, a week or a month. It is on going basis and abides with one's whole life . It is good that you have a good way to take care of every thing in a proper manner . I always take care the needs of my family and ensure all the necessary works to be done first before I come to MyLot. Most of them are routine works so I do not require a list. I am very time conscious and never waste my time. I always accomplish what needs to be done accordingly .

I always go to myLot whenever I feel burned out by all the writing tasks. It gives me some time to relax for a few minutes before going back to work :) What do you mean by routine works? I don't really put household chores in my list however, my to-do list includes my online work so that I won't forget what needs to be done :)

I think most probably one can earn at least pocket money through myLot. I think myLot do pay for the work we do.

Hi Ayeeesha! I'm a stay-at-home mother too. My daughter's already 3 years old so I might put her to daycare soon. But luckily, my husband's staying at home too. Both of us are working at home. With that, we can share responsibilities at home. I work all in the morning so he takes care of our daughter, cooks breakfast and lunch, and sometimes cleans the house. At lunch time, I finish my online job so I take over in washing the dishes and sometimes, do the laundry too (every other week). Then we do the general cleaning of the house weekly during the weekend when we both decided to have dayoff from work. Aside from sharing responsibilities, I like to write little notes of reminder in the calendar, especially with appointments or important things to accomplish during the day or the week. I'm such a multi-tasker that I want to accomplish everything or a lot of things in a little time. And when I didn't meet my daily goals, I feel so frustrated that I can't rest so I will be able to finish them all. So now, I try to make little targets everyday so I can things to do everyday and not make them heavy or many for me. And consequently, I wouldn't feel frustrated anymore. It makes tired, you know. :) My suggestion to you is not to multi-task but to do responsibilities one by one. Yes I know we're super mothers but it is better if you can focus on the task and finish it faster than doing a lot of things in one time and finish nothing. Good luck Ayeeesha :)

I'm a multi-tasker too and I've been doing it ever since. But when I gave birth, everything else changed and as much as possible, I do things one at a time. I try to work as fast as I can so that I can finish a lot of tasks but I end up getting exhausted at the end of the day. So now, I'm taking my time and luckily, my employers are very patient and understanding so they don't bug me all the time :) I do wish my husband can stay at home too. But he needs to take care of other important things so it's just me and my baby at home.

Well I have two actually. One for my daughter and one who'll take care of the cleaning and laundry. But despite that, I still oversee everything and make sure that they're doing their jobs properly :) I'm a bit OC and I freak out when I see something is not properly done that's why I check their work.

Hi again! Have you considered having a nanny or housemaid? If you ask me, I don't want to. Not because my husband's here but I myself is here! I am very much taking pride of having a family, so I want to be as hands-on as I can be. I want to be proud that I was the one who did all that for my family. Anyway, it is because my friends are continuously suggesting to have nanny or helper at home. Their main reason is for us to have more ease in life. Additionally, instead of us preparing for parties and other gatherings, let someone do it so we can have continuous conversations and enjoyment. Have you thought of having one?

I am also a stay at home mom. I have 5 children (2 teens, an 8 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old) and then one on the way due in July. so needless to say, I am a very busy mom! :) sometimes it's hard for me to follow the list that I have for the day because extra things are always popping up. I have a business I run from home and then I also take care of two other kids during the day (a 2 year old and another 4 year old) so I try to get as much done as I can but it sure is hard. since the ones that do not attend school yet are still so small, they require nap time (or they will be extra grumpy if not lol) so I am able to get some things done during that time. today was an adventure though. I had to run a few errands and since I had the kids I couldn't just get up and go. I have to take the little ones too so I had to get the 1 year old, 2 year old and both 4 year olds ready and car seats in and secure and wow that was a job all on its own lol. but we got everything done and they were actually good the whole time we were out. I think that I am very lucky to be a stay at home mom so even though at times its stressful, I still love and enjoy every minute. I love that I don't have to miss any part of their lives.

Wow. You do have a whole bunch! I wonder how noisy your house is because of the little kids :) I do bring my daughter once in a while when I need to do some errands. I can't stand leaving her with my nanny so to be safe, I bring her with me. But unlike your kids, my daughter can be a bit stubborn when we're out since she has a tendency to point at things, pressuring me to buy it for her.

I usually have a weekly planner. It is very convenient for college. I am never late on any of my work. I usually have the weekends free because I am able to stick to my weekly planner. Outside of college though, I try to have the same concept but it doesn't work as well. lol. With online earnings I usually just do them in my free time or after I am done studying for the day. With errands or other responsibilities I do them when I need to. Good luck.

It's different after you graduate. I used to jot down everything when I was still in school and I was able to get everything done. But when I started working in the office, everything is different so I didn't buy any planners in my years of working. But now since I'm a mom and I also work at the same time, having a planner is very useful since it helps me keep track of the things I need to do :)

I'm retired but I also have a schedule when it comes to household chores, yard work, mylot and writing. I have to also make a list of the things that need to get done either in a day or in a specific week. I first eat breakfast and watch Kelly and Michael. Then its getting whatever is on the list done. One day it will be cleaning the house and giving my dog a bath. One day it will be yardwork. One day its laundry day, and once a month its cleaning the windows etc... Once completed I cross it off the list. I try to mylot once everything is done where I have "me" time. Something I never had when I was raising my two daughters and had a full time job outside the home. So now I get to enjoy "me" time by, watching old movies, writing and mylotting.

At least you're enjoying your retirement :) I think it's about being able to focus on yourself and your interests because after all, you've been working and doing a lot of things during the early years :)

Who says that staying at home is easy? You are right! There are a lot of things to do in the home 24/7. Especially if you are only working all alone without any extra hand to give you help, i could not imagine the tons of work waiting for you to be done. And just like what you said it is only about time management. I have my checklist of what-to-do every day so I keep track of the things I should do or accomplish in a day or even in a week. That checklist helps me monitor my own pace and time.

It's a good thing I have some extra help when it comes to household chores. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do and I'm afraid I won't be able to finish everything that needs to be done in one day. Maintaining a checklist and time management are the key solutions when it comes to juggling different tasks :)

I think it is always good to take responsibilities in things one do. I think most probably some people do take while some others does not. I also think that it is not easy to be a stay-at-home mother and I think most probably you can try some job like online to earn money.

I do a lot of online work actually :) Aside from myLot, I have several freelance jobs that keep me busy aside from my responsibilities at home :)
16 Apr 13
I guess your doing it right to make a "must do list" and I suggest if you can practice time management,it's really hard to do chores, run errands, do online incomes and so on..all at the same time in one day the best I can think of is time management like a.m household, baby, some chores then during lunch time when the baby is sleeping online jobs, run errands then late afternoon some chores and baby again. I hope I help you

Thanks for that! Although I usually do my errands in the morning so that I don't have to think of them :) And I have someone to help me take care of my baby since I can't do all the work alone.

It's good that as early as now, you're able to earn money for yourself. I didn't do that when I was still a student and relied too much on allowance :))
