Misuse of facility.

There are strange persons on this planet; I prefer them to call shameless and selfish. One person wanted to go to railway station to catch a train at 5am early morning, since it was not possible to get an auto-rickshaw or public vehicle early morning hours he adopted this nasty technique. At 3am he rang to the free ambulance service telling that one severely injured senseless person is lying on street at such and such place. The ambulance rushed brought the body and admitted in hospital. As soon as ambulance staff left; this man got up telling, nothing has happened; I got a free lift to come here; I will hire an auto go catch my train; and he flew. SOURCE: Newspaper; SAMBAD, DATED 16 APRIL, SAMBALPUR EDITION. What a shameless, selfish person. Please respond comment and share your experience if any? Thanks in advance. Professor Dr. Bhuwan Saraf. PhD. April 15. 2013. Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

If we point a finger at another person, the rest point to us.Some way or other,we are are also responsible for selfish act, only thing is the degree of selfishness is less and varying from person to person.

i know this is wrong, but i hope that when the time comes that he really needs an ambulance, it won't arrive. only then will he realise how foolish he was.

Wow!! It is a shame that there are so many people around the world that are like this. No matter where you go, it seems like you run into people trying to take advantage while feeling Sorry for them. Not sure something like this could happen here in the US as now they require upfront payment almost for everything, but it is a Shame to think people would actually pull this, and then get away with it.

Namaskar sir I would say the guy was smarter. Seriously, he should be dragged to court for misuse and abuse of the system and should be punished. Maybe this would ultimately happen to him, but as of now, I think the ambulance driver, the doctor on board are the ones who are under scrutiny and most likely would face legal action if that is a government service. The Indian law sucks.

That's one of the weirdest things I have ever heard. I'm not sure it's something I would call shameless or selfish. I call it lack of respect for the emergency service.

My thought is why would you do that when the ambulance might have a real emergency. That is a very selfish thing for someone to do.

The falling morals of people become evident with such incidents. And one day this person would learn his lessons anyways.

I think that his behaviour was very selfish. While the ambulance staff wasted their time on him they could have helped people who actually needed help. I guess he didn't think about the fact that his actions could have consequences for people who were actually ill or involved in accidents or maybe he just didn't care about that as long as he got a free lift In my country there have been cases where people have called the emergency phonenumber with minor problems that they could have handled on their own and there have also been different kinds of prank calls. They block the phonelines so that people who actually experience an emergency can't get through.

Respected Sir, People consider themselves smart by fooling other people and breaching their trust but that is the latest trend.I am sure we all have seen the movie ''3 Idiots'' in which one of the heroes of the movies fakes the heart attack while he is in plane and makes them land the plane. After that he just runs from the airport, people were clapping on that scene in theater, that shows the common mentality.

You are right,I don't know if you are aware of the 'tiger and woodman story' we read in school, the wood collector used to cheat others and laugh; but when the tiger really came none came to his rescue. Are you in Japan now?

Really? He is brave to pull up that kind of stint. Just imagine the trouble he has caused for others only to know that it was for his own benefit.

Hi, It is very shameless and selfish behavior of that person. As one of our mylot friend said when he really needs ambulance he would not get ambulance. It would be punishment for him for his bad behavior.

Hi Professor This reminds me of the story where the little boy "Cried Wolf" maybe when he really needs this service next time he may not be so lucky. In all of this I hope this person realizes what a fool he was taking up time when someone who is in need of this service something terrible could of happened to them. Some people are just fools in life!

oh wow. that is very creative of him. but yes, it really is selfish. i would consider doing that only in emergency situations but it really is unfair especially for the people who might need the ambulance at that time.
