Have You a Famous (or infamous!) Double?

Have you ever been mistaken for someone,or been told by a stranger they have a friend who looks EXACTLY like you? It has happened to me a few times,though I've yet to meet one of these people..The first (and scariest!)time it happened to Me was in a Club in Spain while on holiday and a Local guy somehow thought I was a Cop He'd had a run in with..eep..
Rory Gallagher is/was a famous rock/blues guitarist who died in 1995 aged 47 and was born in Ballyshannon here in Ireland,and each summer the town holds a music Festival to commemorate him. He played widely in Europe, and fans visit from all over to join in.Seeing a photo of Rory on Facebook relating to the upcoming festival,it struck Me how much he resembled a guy I work with..I brought up the Facebook entry on my phone at work earlier this evening to show this guy,and He thought I'd used a photo manipulation program on a photo of HIM!
-Result!
So..Who is YOUR famous double,or do you know someone who has one,or has looking like someone caused an interesting moment in your life?!

What an interesting thread ! Many years ago,I went to someplace by train.A guy on the opposite seat stared hard at me.It got on my nerves.I asked him why!He hemmed and hawed "you look like a Beijing opera singer".I think there aren't two people who are as like as two peas in the world, except twins.Only at first sight,one resembles another in a way.

Thanks for the response! I saw a photo shoot online recently,showing a number of unrelated people who had been matched up with someone who looked just like them..the resemblance was as close as Twins!

Yes, I was told by this guy that I looked just like this woman named Melinda. I kept trying to see her and see for myself if she really looked like me. Finally quite while later I did see her. I was embarrassed to be watching her. She actually came over to me and commented on how much we looked alike. It was uncanny. Not famous but uncanny.

I have had this happen many times in my life. People will say I saw you at a certain place and I was never there. Or I would be asked if I had a twin and I don't. The best was when I saw a person that I knew from years ago and I said hi (so and so) she said do I know you. I couldn't believe she didn't recogize me. She then said omg are you Celine Dion. I actually started laughing. When I reminded her who I was she said omg you look just like Celine. When I relayed this story to my family they started to say yes I can see that for sure. I don't really see it at all.

I mean my mother and I look a lot alike but I know that is not what you are talking about. Now my mother's best friend has a lot of family that lives in another city here in the same state that we live in and there was one time that she had been in the city where her family lives and she called me to find out if I'd been in that city that day because she saw someone at a restaurant that she thought was me but she didn't speak to the girl.

I don't have a famous double, but my brother told me there was a girl who looked like me in the high school we attended. Because of that he had an embarrassing experience. When we were in high school, we went home together. One afternoon he had a hard time finding me in the campus, and he saw the girl, and he thought it was me. He told the girl they must go home already, and then when he looked at the girl, he realized it wasn't me at all. :D

If She was a close enough resemblance to take in your brother,She must have been nearly your twin! That could have been fun if you had become friends..
Speaking of which,I saw a photoshoot online recently where a photographer had brought together a group of "Untwins"- people and their doubles-the resemblances were amazing!
