I have learned this 5S system from my husband, as they are practicing this in their office. I am not the organized type of person, so doing 5S interests me a lot. For your information, 5S stands for: Sort, Simply, Sweep, Standardize and Sustain. This system came from Japan and it seems that this worked for them. But of course, it does not mean that this worked for them it will also worked for me. But who knows I have not really tried this. What is your own version of 5S? Are you an organized person?

Yes, every corner of production and manufacturing has become an area for 5's posters to remind all workers the value of the system. We have been using the 5S system years ago because we had Japanese clients who introduced the system to us. IT is not only proper organization that we obtain from 5S but the creation of additional space not to mention the reduction in work-related accidents. IF every tool is organized and kept in their proper places, floors swept from all dirt and debris, you create a good working environment. I try to do 5S inside the home. It is easy to sweep and sort but not to sustain especially if the family is not cooperating with the efforts.
