Am finally not addicted to coffee anymore.

Used to be, not a day goes by without six mugs of coffee, minimum. It was heartbreaking, really, to know that one is addicted to something that is detrimental to the health. Bitter though the taste, it was as if coffee was something necessary, to feel better. And it became a habit, to get that mug and sip, and feel filled. Anyway, it wasn't easy to kick the habit away, and mine was purely by accident, I did not intend to eradicate coffee from my daily beverage intake. One day, I simply went to a healing nun and she performed acupuncture and ventosa on me. She also asked me to sip Chinese medicinal tea twice a day. Before I knew it, the craving for coffee was gone. Am I glad. I didn't realize before that pure water tastes a lot better than anything.

Yes, some people says they can't stop the long habits. But as you did, if you got a determined mind and a positive though on the same, it is as simple as that. Even just for a test, I decided to STOP eating non-veg food for 5 years. Yes, I could do it. I completly stopped all kind of non veg food and become pure vegitarion food habits. All meats, egg, fish etc. were stopped and after the 5 years period ended, I was not even in a hurry to start eating non-veg again. Similarly, even I stopped having coffee and tea for 3-4 years and such things are simple. But we can have everything, but on a controlled process will make the decisionos more wise.

You have a strong will power, not many people can do that. But hey, I will do what you say, sort of experiment, if I can refrain from eating chicken. I do not eat pork. Beef, only when our native dish called karekare is served. Do me a favor, please? Ask me after sometime if I was able to resist chicken.

Just savored some succulent roast last night, couldn't resist the honey/garlic flavored roast which I actually bought for my canines, grrr... My daughters and I were tempted, so we tasted just bits, and everything else were fed to the dogs. I intend to refrain from eating chicken for a month, let's see if I will not be tempted again. Oh shucks the dogs, if chicken is not their favorite food, I would not have chicken in the home anymore.

Hi, Ok, you said that it is people's will power and the strong determination. Yes, then again I am asking if you were able to resist chicken?

Six mugs of coffee is bad. I thought I was bad with just one coffee a day. Coffee has its benefits too, do we really want to give up coffee totally? A little is harmless, this is what I always tell myself. It has been 2 weeks since I had my last coffee though. The cold and nasty cough have kept me away from having my favourite drink for so long.

Certainly, coffee taken in moderation is not bad at all. And there are times when one needs to sip the caffeine to keep awake, for long distance driving, for example. Coffee actually acts only as an upper. It has no nutritional benefit.

I think it is good to take only small amount of coffee per day may be one or two cups of coffee a day and good job for dropping the amount of coffee you drink per day.

That is amazing to know that acupuncture help you a lot, wanna try that one but don't know any person that is really legit on doing that kind of stuff. And may i ask what is ventrosa?? Well, anyway, good that you are able to control your coffee addiction. As far as I know, coffee is not really detrimental on health, it has anti-oxidants. But then, too much on something could really be detrimental on health. Happy to know you are able to control your addiction. Stay healthy my friend. Stay in control always and keep things on minimum. Too much of something or too less on something is not really good, keep things on balance. Have a nice day!!

Coffeeholic addictus here too! Haha! But like you, I did overcome the craving, too. But you have an awesome way to give up your coffee craving. Is ventosa the use of suction cups? to cleanse the blood, right? I think I've tried it once and felt lighter in exchange for circular bruises at the back (oh correct me if I'm wrong). LOL! I haven't tried acupuncture yet but I would like to painful yet relaxing it can be. Hehe! I think I quit drinking much coffee when I started to feel bone degradation? I think I was becoming hunchback more and more. Even though I don't know the relationship, I lessened my coffee cups into once a day because I began calcium medication. I just feel that coffee might affect calcium intake. I haven't done research yet but it did lessen my coffee cups, so what the heck :D Thanks for the discussion ;)

I like water better than most drinks also. As long as it is really cold, I think it tastes good! I have to drink decaf anyway, so I don't really care about coffee. Sometimes when I am cold I want it because it is warm, but other than that I don't care.

I heard somewhere that decaf is worse, has something to do with the process of decaffeinating, and it causes cancer. Please check it out. The coffee makers try to deceive us that decaf is okay, because the caffeine had been taken away, so what exactly are we sipping there?

Use tea to replace coffee? - After using tea , then it is easier to replace with water or fruit juice.
Ya ,one method is replacing method to kick a bad habit , for some people trying to kick coffee addiction is by replacing with tea which has less harm and good for heart. Slowly then tea will be replaced by water or fruit juice for example.Carefull then not to fall back to coffee in stressful environment because coffee stalls are all around with it aroma.MAde sure your exercise more and lead an interesting and health life .

I used to drink as much when I was still working in a call center 7 years ago. It was my only way to keep myself awake during my graveyard shift. But late last year, i began having palpitations. I was drinking about 3 cups a day. The first I did was to stop drinking for a week. Then I noticed that the palpitations was gone. But I guess, once a coffee drinker, always a coffee drinker. But this time, I only take a cup in a day.

6 cups? that is too much. Coffee is only effective with a cup or two. Behind that, it will serve you no more. It will not make you more awake. I also got rid of my coffee. I replaced it with green tea. I think it is healthier, and I feel more alive than ever.

I don't think the coffee is dangerous as long as we make balance by doing exercise. Even drinking coffee can make our activity more spirit. And also you can balance by drinking pure water so our kidney will be healthy. But I think you are right to go to healing nun and get acupuncture and ventosa, it was the right effort to reduce the addictive

Do you need a cup or two of coffee just to get started in the morning? Do you crave more coffee or a couple of colas to make it through the afternoon? While you're reaching for another cup, do you find yourself devouring a donut, Danish, or other fat, sugar-laden treats? If you have answered "yes" to any of these questions, read on and kick the caffeine habit for good, and get back on track with your life.

I think lots of people take lots of coffee and tea every day. I take tea two times per day or at least in the evening. I think it is good to take moderate amount of coffee and tea than more. I think it is good for you to take less amount of coffee per day.

Hi eileen leyva: Wow! I have simply need to say that you really were a coffee addicted. You drank too much coffee, even for my standards I used to be a coffee addicted. Breakfast was not the same for me without a cup of coffee but I'm glad I start to replace it with other beverages. Now I can drink coffee from time to time but it's definitely not a must for me. Hi eileen, Drinking six mugs of coffee a day seems like a lot. But did you feel any detrimental effects that this had on your body? Some people are able to drink seemingly large quantity of coffee a day and still are healthy. Different people will react differently. If you do not have any problems then I guess continue or even cutting down would not be a bad idea. Just my thoughts. Have a nice day.

Hi That is a very good news ! I am a coffee addict before like 10 or more glasses a day. I drank black coffee , no any creamer or milk and a little of sugar only. Until it came to a point where i experienced hyper acidity and i stop drinking coffee. The amazing thing is , i didn't find it hard to adjust , i stopped drinking it and my system is no longer looking for it also. I am just lucky. I am glad you were able to stop drinking coffee in also very easy way. I guess it is just a matter of self discipline .
