I have never felt so sick in my life. I knew beginning of this week something wasn't right because I wasn't feeling myself. Then yesterday morning I started getting really sick and ended up leaving work early because I couldn't handle it anymore. My temp by 4pm yesterday got to 102.2. I have the stomach bug nothing the doctors can do just rest and drink fluids. That's all I been doing. I was lucky I already had today off work because I was supposed to see the heart specialist but I had to cancel last min this morning because I woke up vomiting. No fever today though and I'm able to keep some food down so far. I been eating chicken noodle soup and Popsicle and drinking orange juice. I'm debating if I should just call in sick tomorrow too i'm not 100% better yet but I feel a little better than I did a few days ago. I hate this feeling though my body was so weak and i didnt eat for 2 days until today. Crazy there's alot of stuff going around, I hope you all don't get it. Have you been sick yet this year?

When we are sick like this it is best to eat what they call the BRAT diet. It consists of bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Seems these foods make the least trauma on the digestive system. You may want to stay home an extra day. I am such a light weight I sure would.

Glad to hear you are doing better. Sounds like you'll be ready to get back at it in a day or so. Good and glad to hear it.

aww, hopefully you feel better very very soon. This years flu has been very bad. take rest, and lots of fluids and vitamin C. drink some hot ginger tea. Also, since it is a stomach problem, avoid any sort of dairy like cheese milk yogurt, it will increase the problem. try to take avoid heavy food/ meals, which i am sure you are. green tea can also help with a hint of lemon, but definately increase your fluid intake. :) feel better!

I haven't had any dairy since i been sick however I did try a sip of milk one night and it just turned my stomach so I threw it out. I just been drinking sprite and orange juice and it's been helping. Atleast I'm drinking some fluids. Last night I was able to eat a bit more and today I'm feeling better. Thanks for the post.

Oh this might be a viral infection and this will stay for about a week in your body. Don't worry , not so dangerous . All you need to do now is to drink a lot and lots of fluids , have a complete bed rest and eat fresh fruits . Don't lay in bed in one position but turn you body in two sides to prevent pneumonia . Be careful of complications. It is the complication which is deadly.

Oh yeah. I have been sick for the last month & I am still trying to get over it. I didn't get a high fever, but I had a very bad cough. In fact my coughing was so bad that I strained the muscles in my chest & even bruised my ribs. My doctor put me on anti-bionics & a very strong cough medicine. He also gave me an asthma inhaler since I was having a very hard time breathing. Then because the coughing was so bad I actually got sores in the back of my throat which turned out that I had strep throat. I have never been this sick for this long in my entire life. I was miserable every single day. I hardly ate except for some soup which even that was hard to swallow. Mostly I just slept the days away. It's only now, a month later that I am just starting to feel better. I hope I never get that sick again.

That's a long time to be sick over a month? Usually if i'm sick mine last 3-4 days or so. I couldn't imagine being sick for a month I couldn't miss work for that long I would have lost my job. I cant call in sick anymore because I'm at my limit now. We only get 3 unscheduled sick time in 3 months and I already have 2. So I'm hoping after this I won't get sick again until winter atleast that would be nice. I'm finally starting to feel better again which is good, might try to get around and do some stuff today instead of being in bed all day. I hope you start feeling better soon too.

I have the flu since 3-4 weeks now and no opportunity to sleep longer. Have to take my children to school and am not able to heat the house or buy/get wood to do so. So I am happy the sun starts shining a bit more, the temps are getting higher and there is less rain. although my house is still ice cold and I don't feel that well to sit outside yet :-( I wish you a quick recovery.

I am sorry to hear that. It is very important that you drink a lot of water and then have enough rest in these days. I can tell you this will be very helpful. Soon you will recover from the flu, I am sure. If you don't have the appetite, you shall try the food like noodles, congee and so on. Having fruits will be a good idea, too.

Hi I am very sorry to hear that you feel so sick and very unhappy. I think you should keep these things in mind,if you are sick or have allergies and your nose is congested.your lips end up drying more quickly because you tend to breathe through your mouth. At that time, you must be careful, drink more water.beyond that, extra attention to hygiene, especially hand washing. i hope you'll be well soon.

Having the flu is one of the worst possible feelings. I hope that you get better quickly. I don't envy you in the least. Keep yourself hydrated and get as much rest as you can. I did have a touch of the flu that did not last very long this year. I was fortunate because it ended quickly.
