I use to have rummage sales when my kids were little. I would sell all of the small clothes and use the money to get them other clothes. We could afford to buy them clothes at the time, but I saw it as a way of getting rid of the old instead of letting it pile up. There are so many people now a days that are reselling there clothes from themselves or their children. I think it is a really good idea. This way someone else can benefit from what you are selling. And it is great that you are able to help out as well.

Yes I would say that rummage sales/garage sales are similar to resale or thrift shops. Except some resale shops give you credit for items you bring in to sell, that way you have to purchase in their store. Which is ok too.

I haven't had any rummages sales since my children were young. They are married and have their own children and now they have the rummage sales. It works out for both the seller and those that are in need of a good deal.

That's good. Where I'm at people don't do yard sales or rummages which I believe are the same thing any ways.

I do the same thing. I have 3 small girls and when the youngest outgrows the clothes, I sort through them to see what would be "sellable". There are alot of items that all 3 wore ALOT so there is no way I could sell them...some so worn that I sometimes feel guilty about even giving them away. But, I always think there might be someone out there somewhere that has a child who has literally nothing and maybe they could wear it until they get something better.

Yep and where I live a lot of families like my own cant afford good kid clothes because of how expensive it is so what I do have that looks in good shape I sell others I just donate. I've bought a few things off of other people like some toys.

It's not hard to do either. Some times it's clothes that my kids never wear because I don't have the heart to tell certain people that oh I don't like that or I don't think that will look good on one of the kids so I always sell those ones. It's a good way for me together money that is need doe new clothes, or bills. Now if I have a recept for what was give I just bring it back to the store and get what I do like.

Hi friend, good to know that you are reselling your kids clothes. I will give my sons old clothes to the charity or orphanage. I am not interested in selling it for money, already it was used by kids, so simply i will give it to my friends kids

I do do rated but its the clothes that are stained or faded or nobody wants to buy them then I give them away for free or donated to goodwill. So I do little bit of everything. If I can get only for it then I sell it fit not no big deal but I use the money I get for all kind of things. To buy the kids new clothes, pay a bill or to give as a cash donation.

That's one way of making money :) my cousin sold her daughter's clothes and stroller in ebay and she made some extra money out of it. I'm planning to do that as well when my kid gets older. I feel terrible for buying her clothes that she worn once or even not all so why not make something out of it right? :)

The money goes to goodies for sure.

Thanks I've been doing this since I had my daughter 2 years ago. I've never done it on facebook before and I'm having really good luck with it. A lot of my stuff is getting people's attention but I'm also working against other mothers and father adoring so as well. Which is done because there is always someone wanting something. Today I had someone interested in a toy my daughter doesn't play with and she is coming tomorrow Tuesday for it.

I am very lucky that my sister give me girl clothes that my two nieces used to wear. Usually I get given lots of beautiful dresses that are sleeveless. Then I put a long sleeved top under it. She has given a pair of trousers that my little girl loves. She had given lots of night wear and a stunning looking dressing gown. When my daughter outgrows these clothes I tend to give them to a charity shop. Children grow very quickly. Therefore I go to cheap shops when I do buy clothes for my children. It is great that you sell on your kids old clothes Sky Bear.

Me and my mom bought the kids clothes a lot of the time and they are like $3 and outfit at the store so when I do resell the clothe depending on the condition I sell it for $3 to a $1 which is very cheap for a lot of families the same with toys and stuff. It's a great way to make a little money back and to use to rebuy clothes e and so one for your kids. Some women give things a way for fee.i do the clothes that are more worn out as donations.

One there is kid resell stores called once upon a child or kids to kids but they don't take all of the clothes. You can sell online like Craigslist or facebook a lot easier and you don't have to wast your money to find out that a place won't take your clothes.

Of course it's not wrong. I never thought it was wrong at all. I'm not the only one that does it either lots of other moms and dads do this as well. Money is tight for lots and clothes for like a dollar a pieces is hard to find or free for that matter.

It's funny that you mentioned this today because I just went through all of my kids clothes today from last Summer and I am planning on selling the ones that are too small for them now. I sell their old stuff and use that money to buy clothes that will fit them now. =) It is a good way of saving some money! And now a days I have to be careful with money, so this is one way I am able to buy my kids the clothes they need.

I don't see anything wrong with that. My sister made some extra money that way. She sold her kids clothes on Ebay that they grew out of but were in still good condition & then she took the money she made off of the sale & bought them new clothes for school. So it's kind of like recycling clothing. I don't see anything wrong with buying used clothes just as long as they are still in good condition.

That is good, my son's clothes are in the cabinet, I'll just keep them for the future use. For that we will not buy and we have a second baby :)

The bad part about keeping them is that you don't know when you will have a second child or if they will be a boy or not. I kept some but not all of my daughters but when I got pregnant with her brother when she was 10 months and when she was 14 month we found out we where having a boy. So I sold all of her baby clothes that I had left that I was saving. So I learn you can really save the clothes that you liked and have for your kids and styles change over the years and its also very affordable to buy used clothes or get hand me downs.

One way to do this is have yard sells. As well as when you are buying them clothes go to yard sells. Another way to cut back on money is to go to Deseret industries. Even tough yard sells mainly have used clothes they can still have some nice cheap new ones.

Where I live people don't have yard sales because we have no yards or drive way for that matter. I live in a town house and I kind of live in the city as well where most people don't have time for yard sales so the only way your going to find resold iteams is online or going to a used store to even the regular store. I always price show and rather have first hand stuff them second hand stuff for my kids. I'm picky with my kids clothes especially my daughter. Family buys my kids clothes all of the time I don't ask them they just do so then when they are done I resell the, some times I get them clothes if money isn't tight other wise I use the money for bills.
