i said to the people here. don't try to save money by turning of the air con. it so happened we experienced day of the year. and on the news people are suffering from heat stroke. we have the air con on one room only. when we get out of the room we feel like the heat is so extreme that i immediately get back to the room after getting something outside the room like getting into the kitchen or whatever part of the house. but they realized that they should not turn off the air con except for a few rest so that the air con would over heat.

That doesn't make me want to live in a warm country, it sounds really awful. People tend to abuse the air conditioner, making the room temperature too low, so the difference when you get out is too big, and many people end up becoming sick because of that. Also many people tend to be hot no matter how strong the air conditioner is. Because of that I have become sick many times, as those people don't care at all about other people's health. I have a love-hate relationship with air conditioners, I guess.

I understand what you means over there, if a home owner want to save money, she shouldn't have install air conditioner inside her house in the first place, the whole purpose of having it installed is to avoid yourself get sick or kill by the heat wave generated in the summer, if she continue to turn it off during summer, and not keep it on to make the house cool because the reason is to save money, then it kill the whole purpose of it in a house, not even mention it will get the air-conditioner going bad much quicker if it is not use during summer but rather remain settle in the dust. I can never comprehend such type of mentality from a house owner not turning her air-conditioner on in a very hot summer.

my room now has aircon but still I don't turn it on sometimes. It is not because I don't like to pay high electric bill because I don't pay for anything here. I just want to open my door and window to let the fresh air in. I turn on aircon for my laptop's sake. because I don't like to cook his chips.

Someone told me that their mechanic told them that they should turn off the AC before turning off their car. I disagree. Any one have a good explanation on why this should be done? I think this is the best list of answers I have ever received. Thanks. Sounds like it would be a good debate.

Hey hotsummer, what are you staying? I can understand that sometimes the heat really get super unbearable because I'm staying in singaproe and it's summer all year round. I super dislike the temperature in singapoare. In singapore, i have to toally rely on aircon to survive otherwise, you are right, i might just get heatstroke anytime :)

I understand that. We used to have that in las vegas in the usa. The fire dept. went around to check on people. Stay cool there... drink lots of water.
