keep on trying and keep on biding on projects. never give up if you want a position with someone. it will take some time, because of the competition. it's just like look for a job offline.

Perhaps you were not selected because of high prices. As a new user you need to come in at low amounts just to get experience. Also on Odesk have you taken the "tests" that they have to boost your profile? Good things take time so keep at it as I don't see why you will not get a job down the line if you put the right effort into your profile. Good luck

Before you bid, please have some questions in your mind: 1. Have you modified your profile so that people get attracted? You said you are "write" person, but how "write" are you? You can express your ability and professionalism to the clients through your profile. For example, you can have a brief introduction to yourself and why are you competitive among other people working on data entry and content writing. Clients look for the best. 2. Have you uploaded your CV to portfolio? A CV (curriculum vitae) shows your working experience, therefore professionalism. A good CV should include your successes in career, famous clients you have worked for, complete contact info etc. 3. Have you uploaded your example of work to portfolio? An example of work is extremely important because if the potential clients are satisfied with your example of work (content writing for instance), there's a great chance that they'll hire you. There is huge competition in these sites therefore the only way to survive is being competitive. And the lucky thing is that if you get hired and produce quality work for that client, there's possibility that the client will re-hire you or he/she will hire you as full-time writer. Have a good day. May God bless you.
