Too Much Spending?

Most ladies do love shopping no matter what status, role, and age they belong. Shopping is one of the ways to relieve stress as to most girls say. Well, I do love shopping that is why I do not go to malls if I do not have extra money. If I do, I used to buy clothes, perfumes, flat shoes and sandals, bags, and accessories. But although I love this I have limits if I have money 3,000 pesos is quite enough yet I can't buy all I want. I know it is a little amount for a fancy shopper but I am just a student but I am sure if I will be employed someday, I will surely spend P5,000 for shopping.

I guess I am a strange female but I hate shopping, always have... I only shop when I absolutely have to and even then it is a chore. I hate it. When I am stressed I like to write, go to the park, sing, spend time with my kids and husband, etc... Not shop.

I used to shop a lot when I was younger and before I got married. But things changed when I gave birth. Money is something that is not easy to earn, especially when you don't have a stable income. I regretted shopping too much because i only have little savings and all my income is in my cabinet. And I still have clothes and shoes that are never worn since I already forgot about buying those. Now, I'm much wiser especially when it comes to spending. I stopped buying at designer stores especially when it comes to clothes since there are a lot of clothes that are cheaper yet made of quality materials. So be wise in your spending. Start saving while you're still young and avoid spending on unnecessary stuff which you don't even need :)

awww. that is so sweet. Mothers are really selfless. But I am not that shopaholic actually. Maybe once in a blue moon I buy those branded ones but as to cologne and perfume I really love Bench, Penshoppe and Victoria Secret :) But if I do not have budget I use Lewis and Pearl. :)

That's good :) Though as much as possible, save :) You'll neer know what might happen in the future so while you can, limit your spending and save :)

Thanks. I will keep that in mind and do it. :) That is one of my problem how to save. I am really a spender not just in clothes but also in foods. I always eat and eat even I am not starving. Whew. I need to control myself.

When you say 3,000 pesos, do you mean per month, or every time you shop you get that budget? If you are a student, I think you are beyond the average student. When I was a student, having a 1000 budget for shopping, or just to go out, was already a luxury.

Not every month :) But once a year. Though I am a student still I have some ways to earn extra money online and offline.

After reading your post, that reminds me my ex girlfriend who also loves to shop. She likes to go around mall, and other stores, and shop after shop. Although she has limited amount of money, sometimes, she just keep on shopping until she has no money left in her purse. Sometimes I fought with her over this, until the end, I just won't tolerate her shopaholics character. Most importantly, she loves shopping more than me. So I broke up with her.

I seldom go for shopping. If ever I had, it will be buying something for my children . It has been quite a while since my last shopping. Usually, I will only shop for necessity

I can say that being a mother is far different because it is indeed selfless :) You are thinking more of your children than yourself :)

Hahaha ..., you are absolutely right! As the saying goes " Shopping is women stress therapy ". But please do not ended up like a shopaholic which she decided to freeze her credit in the freezer like in the movie "Shopaholic". I enjoyed watching that movie very much.

Well hopefully once you have finished school and get a very nice spending monies will not be a problem to you...It should not be expected to have so much extra spending as a student especially if you are not a working student...which can be very distracting at times...So give yourself some credit and you will be fine....

Girls can be quite unreasonable when going to mall and seeing all those nice fancy stuff. It’s actually better if you can be wiser and spend with what you actually need, not want. But ocassionaly buy nice stuff to give the present to yourself may be a good one though. That’s a nice way to relieve stress.

Hi Iamsittie! I can relate much on this topic. When I was still single (not yet married, doesn't have a boyfriend), I spend all my money to shopping. Mostly about fashion. When I got a boyfriend, I sometimes buy stuff for him or treat us at the movies or in a restaurant. Then when I had a family, I am still a shopper. Now I shop for house utility things, baby clothes, travelling necessities, and a little for me. I am a cheapo so I tend to buy things that comes in little prices and ends up buying a bulk of things. I think I'm overspending because I tend to get a frenzy whenever there's discount and sales in the mall. Even though they're cheap, I still buy a lot. As long as it comes cheap, I buy a lot. I usually peg a budget but it gets sacrificed whenever I find discounts. Hehe! Would you like to overcome overspending? I do. But it would take a lot of time and with help of my husband to stop me whenever I have shopping frenzy attacks. Thanks for the discussion ;)

i love shopping, too.but different from you,i still go to malls even if i don't have extra money.don't worry, i just go window-shopping at that moment.when i want to buy something,i usually don't buy it immediately,i will go to different shops and compare the similar things in price, quality even colour.finally i will buy the best one.maybe you will think that it is too troublesome and takes much time. but doing this way i can save more money and merely regret of what i bought.

Shopping doesn't always have to be about spending money.I too enjoy shopping to relieve stress, kill some time, etc...but often "window shopping" can make me feel just as good as buying things. In fact, sometimes better because there is no guilt from spending money.

It's easier to spend if you don't earn it. You'll learn the value of the money once you started working.

I also love shopping but I just realized recently that shopping only relieves stress temporarily, sometimes I forget to be reasonable when I'm in the mall, facing a bunch of products on sale. I get excited when I buy a lot of stuff but then realize later that I don't really need them and that I forgot to buy the more important things.

I LOVE SHOPPING!! I guess it's in the nature of every woman that enjoys doing shopping. Too much spending for me is alright as long as you know your priorities and practice budgeting for important matters it's okay. It's a great great feeling to shop and to shop stuffs like shoes, clothes and other stuff.
