You will certainly find lots of people here who will respond to your discussions and not make fun of you. For your own good I will remind you that we are not supposed to post in languages other than English because MyLot admins are not multi lingual. It is in the terms of use and the rules here. I think you are going to have fun here, and learn a lot, as well as possibly teach us a few things as well. Good luck and enjoy the time you spend in conversations here. Young people frequently make fun of others, usually it is because they do not think well of themselves.

do not you worry, you are not alone in the row and that we still have time to enhance our english proficiency. english language is not our vernacular language that is why it is okay for us to have mistakes. what is best is that we learned our mistakes from our past and eager enough to straighten thus out. one thing, do not let others humiliate, underestimate you or just ignore them plainly. i agree with you, what is the use of being so good in english when you do not have good manners and that you are capable of hurting the feelings of others blatantly. what is learning, when you do be able to figure how to be good to your friends or to the people around you. better to learn nothing than to have a chauvinist deeds :) but please no local language to be uttered here or else you take offense for this by the admins. you can construct english very simply. anyway, your english is understandable. just stick to it. just no to vernacular language of your country so that everyone would understand your discussion and through, they all of us can participate including those people who live out of our country ;) cheers!

Reminds me of how the French were when I was in Paris... It's not nice to treat people that way. Offering help is one thing, but making fun of them is not nice.

I am curious to know your native language. When I think of learning a different language other than English (my native language), I realize how difficult it would be. If you are learning and speaking a 2nd language, you should be very proud of yourself for doing so and you should not pay attention to the negative comments others may make. In learning English, we go to school for many years to become proficient in it and even then some people never know everything there is to know about speaking, writing and reading English. It is a difficult second language to learn. Your confidence comes from within yourself and knowing you are attempting your best. Learning a 2nd language takes time but in the process, you deserve credit for any attempts you make. It is a gift to be able to have the ability to speak another language. Do not let any other human being tear down your confidence. Be strong from within and know that you are attempting a difficult task and that you should be praised for your attempts.

Tagalog is a hard language for English speakers to learn. Always get your confidence from within. Practice makes perfect. Do not pay attention to any negative things people say. I know you will do good.

Speaking in English is not the basis of a successful individual. it is how you deal with life, and how you inter-act with different personalities. whether he/she is fluent in English or not, it always boils down in how you carry yourself with different situation it isn't about the language you used whether or not its grammatically right or not.

very well said girl u got it right. English language is not prerequisite but it is needed right now because Of our growing economies we are tend to used english language when interacting other foreign people but not just english language are we going to used nowadays in order to communicate well like for example chinese, mandarin, korean etc. this are the language that most of the investors used but look at them now a very successful in their different fields without knowing to speak in english were using english language to communicate others though were not that good in speaking english the most crucial things was u understand each other that was the main thoughts of using different language "understanding".

I don't humiliate people, or insult them because they don't speak and use English language well. But I am personally one of those who couldn't help but notice wrong pronunciation, and grammar. I am guilty because I can't help but think it's funny when the grammar is too bad. Although I understand the thought expressed, which is what actually matters. Maybe it's the environment I grew up in. At school, my teachers were very strict in the proper usage of English, and my classmates were very good at it. Probably that's the reason I struggled and worked hard to somehow polish my English. I know you can do it. And do it not because you want show those who humiliated you that you can do it, but because you are doing it for yourself, and for a better future.

You are right, it is not necessary to laugh and humiliate anyone who can't speak English well, as you know, not everyone in this world adopt English as their native language and as their mother tongue used by all family members. Only a swaggerer will try to humiliate you because of the poor English speaking skill you have and bad grammar you used, that is nothing for you to get discouraged by someone like that, so long as you try your best to continue learning and speaking right, you should be proud of the effort you put in, you can try to avoid talking to him next time, and don't let him get into you, it is not worth wasting your time thinking about him except forget about him, jerk like that is penniless.

No one should making fun at another person, that is not nice, and it is a stupid thing to do in life. English is not the only language in the world, it was a popular language only, so there is no big deal if you couldn't speak perfect English. I believe if you are willing to practice with that language skill, someday you will master it. Don't pull yourself down.

Don’t be upset and don’t worry. You can start practicing and learn by your own even if you don’t pay attention in your English class in the past. I’m not good in English too as it’s not my mother tongue, but I feel I better each and each day. Mostly my knowledge in English come from playing Role Playing games as they contained many English dialogues. I love to read them.

it is very impolite for someone to humiliate others.after all, english is not our mother language, learning english very well must be a very hard process for us.don't give up,it is good for us to explore our weak points in learning english,we can pertinently improve our english .well, let us improve our poor grammar while ignore their discourtesies.

Usually when someone likes to belittle and speak ill of others it is because they feel incompetent themselves. It's a bully who says such things to others. They are to be pitied. They are lacking something in themselves and they think they can build themselves up by putting you down. Just look at them for what they are and go on with your life. With time and practice you will improve, they will not.

I think people who make fun of those who don't speak English well are rude and ignorant. There are people born and raised in the US and English is their only language and they don't use the correct grammar. It's too bad you didn't pay more attention in school but you can study on your own now and can look for internet sites that will help you learn. Good luck and don't stop what English you do know!

I am sure that these people who criticise you neither pay your rent/mortgage or buy your food or employ you, so why are you making them upset you? Do they know your language? Can they speak in several languages? With practise you will become more proficient. congratul;ations on learning to speak another language other than your own. No one has any right to look down on another person - unless they are offering them a helping hand to get up

You're right, being fluent in the English language doesn't give anybody the license to humiliate and degrade those who aren't. These people have no breeding whatsoever. Although English is currently the preferred global language, not able to speak it properly doesn't mean you are a lesser man. Just take the Japanese who are leaders in technological advancements. A lot of them can't even speak English but they're smarter and more successful than a lot of English-speaking ones. Try not to be affected by this person. What you could do is to take his tasteless remarks as some sort of motivation for you to improve on your oral and written English.

very well said dude ur right nobody has the right to degrade others just give some useful thoughts that others can be benefited... and if others can do why cant i ill just need thorough exposure to different aspect of english languages.

well me too, i wasn't that good in english and had a hard time constructing sentences together but when i got exposed to the internet 13 years ago and started communicating and corresponding with people from anywhere in the world i have learned and improved as time goes by. also it is normal for fellow filipinos to make fun and pick on people who are not that good in grammar and english, they laugh and really judge you about it. but just keep on doing what you can on how to improve your english, keep communicating with people especially online from anywhere in the world, i think mylot is also a good place to learn. stay positive and show those people what you can do.
