Hello friends. Many of us have their own bolgs and they are doing well on an average. However, how it would be if we do not have our bolg but we just post on somebody elses blogs or on forums? I understand that both things have their advantages as well as disadvantages. So please share your ideas about these two ways of earning online. Have a nice time...!

You are right as both things have their advantages as well as disadvantages. Blog is very good as you have lot of freedom that what you want to write ,how lenghty ot short you want to write , what picture or video you want to use to spruce up your blog but in other sites you need to follow the rules and regulation which if not implemented may result in deletion of your posts or articles. But when it comes to earning, blog may not be that beneficial as you have to promote your site /website all alone but when you are writing some other writing site than there is whole bunch of people to promote the site and you get paid also for writing their. I feel blog is for those who are exceptionally good at marketing, writing and other computer related activities as at the end of the day you want fruit of hard work which you have put in (human tendency).

Thanks for comments friend. I agree with you that for a blog one has to do marketing and that is quite different from your writing job. So naturally it requires different skills and knowledge. So if one wants to earn through blog then one has to think of marketing it effectively. However, the benefit is that one can write according to one's own wish and abilities. If you have enough knowledge about a particular subject, you can write good articles on that subject but you may not be so successful in writing on other subjects. So if you do not have your own blog, then you have to accept the subjects which may not be of your choice. So the quality of writing may not be maintained if you are writing for others. In such situation your work will not get the recognition. So, if you can market your blog well, then go for it or else think of writing for others and develop skills to write on variety of subjects.

If you're earning from your own blog, even it's small, it would be likely a stable income. But if you are writing for someone else, the payment might be higher but it's likely not stable. In most time, you couldn't get employer who are willing to hire you everyday - unless if you are under long term contract. The competition between content writers is quite harsh. But if you ready to compete, or if you have already known some good employers, then go for it.

Well friend, it is not true in all the cases that if we write for others the payment is high. Infact sometimes it is too low. Not only that, you have to meet to the time limits too. One more problem is that the work is not constant. You might be in mood of working for longer hours and earn some extra money on some days but you may not have work at all. Yes, it is important to have a good employer who will pay you honestly without much delays. This will help you to work peacefully without worrying about the payment part. Thanks for adding to the discussion, have a nice time...!

That's true if we're talking about the payment amount. But if we are comparing it with earning from our own blog, roughly, writing for someone should be easier. If you ever tried to earn with your blog, especially if it's brand new, you might encountered lack of traffics during the first three months. Lack of traffics means lack of revenue - sometimes you can hardly earn $2 in a month..

I never tried posting articles in other people's blog. guest blogging? I that what you mean? But I do encounter some personal blogs that are inviting others to do guest blogging on their site. One benefit that can be derive from this is for the invited writer to create link to their own blog in order for them to get more traffic for their site. So therefore, more chances for them to earn more. I don't know if they are getting paid by writing on that particular blog. I am still new in blogging and there are still a lot of things that I should learn in this regards.

Well Aries, you may not have done guest blogging but it is also a way or earning for the people who have not yet started their own blog. I have been doing this for online friend and she has been paying me honestly. However, there are many scams on internet and people do not get their payments after working for others. I have not tried by I think that if a person is paying you for your articles, she would allow you to post your link unless it is agreed right in the begining when the deal is being negotiated. One more thing I feel like agreeing with you is that everybody should learn many things irrespective of his or her experience in a particular field.

I started my own blog this year although I haven't updated it lately since I was busy with my writing job as a content writer. It was fun and at the same time, I get to learn a lot. But the downside of this is that I can see my well-researched articles all over the internet WITHOUT my name on it. It turns out that the articles I made are posted on several blogs and forums where they just pay writers to write for them. So it's kind of annoying because I don't get any recognition for my hard work. Except that I am paid a good amount for every article. I still don't know how to go about with my blog. I am thinking of making money out of it though I still don't know how to start. So far, I am content with my writing job and submitting my own articles in different sites where my name is reflected :)

Yes Ayeeesha it is frustrating that your work is not being recognised if you are writing for others. However, I think that this is the way our work goes. We have to decide between two ways: one is to remain free from all worries of updating the blog and marketing it to earn regularly and the other is just write for others and forget about it as if you had done something just to get the money and not the recognition. Here on Mylot many members are there who can guide you in this matter. I am sure that if you consider their advise, it would be useful thing. They are very supportive in nature and you have to just sign up under them as their referrals. Have a nice time friend...!
