I'm now reading 1984 on audiobook (or is it "listening"?) and I'm now only at chapter 2, so no spoilers, guys, though I know what the book is all about and I've heard great reviews of it. I'm also almost finished with Frank McCourt's Angela Ashe's. I must say, this is a great memoir full of wit and I enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post Goodreads links to these books but you can always google, google is your best friend ha ha. So anyway, what are you reading now?

Right now i'm reading a book by Stephen King called Cell. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. Before that i was reading a book by Dan Brown called The Lost Symbol. Dan Brown is the author of the Davinci Code as well and i also find him to be a good author. Terry Goodkind author of the Sword of Truth series is good as well.1984 i have never read but want to. I do love mystery and fantasy books most tho. i never read a book on kindle or listened to audio book. I would rather just pick up the real book and open it and read like when i was a kid before they had audio books or kindle.Tho right now like i said i'm reading the book Cell by Stephen King. i am on the first chapter as i just started the book but so far it has me wanting to read more.

I read Cell several years ago while on vacation and have always thought it was one of King's bounce-back books. It really stuck with me; probably in part because I have a son who was the protagonist's son's age at the time I read it. I just finished Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas and I understand it is being made into a movie.

I've never read anything by Stephen King and Dan Brown. I've always wanted to try to read one of Stephen King's books. So for a starter like me, which of his books would you recommend me to pick up? If I have a choice, I'd rather pick up the physical book too. But I also don't mind reading the digital ones. E-readers are very convenient. It's light and small and I can bring it anywhere. I'm now reading Freedom by Jonathan Franzen.

I'm reading Night Probe by Clive Cussler. If you aren't familiar with Clive Cussler, he is an adventure writer and probably the best. At least that's what the critics say. He has written several series of books but his Dirk Pitt Adventures is the largest with around 22 books and counting. Dirk Pitt is Special Projects director for NUMA, National Underwater and Marine Agency. And all his exploits, in some way, involve the ocean, shipwrecks and buried treasure, bad guys and international conspiracies, classic airplanes and antique cars and, of course, beautiful women. In Night Probe, Dirk Pitt and NUMA is employed by the President to search for the North American Treaty, an agreement between Great Britain and the U.S., drafted during the Woodrow Wilson administration, that would give the U.S. sole possession of Canada, for the right price. But there are others who would stop at nothing, not even murder, to see that the Treaty is never recovered. But, I'll stop right there since I haven't finshed the book. I started reading Cussler's books early last year. The first one I read was The Chase, an Isaac Bell adventure. After that I read 3 or 4 of the Dirk Pitt books, in no particular order, before I decided that I was a Clive Cussler fan and wanted to collect and read all his novels, that number over 50. And I can tell you I haven't read a bad one yet. If adventure novels interest you, check him out.

Thank you for telling me about Clive Cussler. Frankly, I've never heard of him nor have I ever read adventure books. Time to get out of my comfort zone and be a wider reader.

I am reading a book by a Danish author called Bech Nygaard. He has written two books about a girl who grew up in an orphanage. In the first book we hear about her childhood and her life as a young adult when she start working at a farm. At the moment I am reading the second book and it is called "Du blev træl" (= you became a slave) and it describes her life and the relationship between her and her husband. It is not a happy marriage and her husband has spent most of the money that she had inherited from her parents. So far I have only read the first chapters of the second book, so I still don't know how the story about her life is going to end.

I just finished re-reading Percy Jackson and The Heroes of Olympus books. I'm trying to read Hush Hush series now. It's about a fallen angel who falls in love with a nephilim. It's a dark novel written much better than Twilight. It has more relevance as well. It's almost the same with Blue Blood series wherein fallen angels were banished from heaven and, as punishment, became vampires. I like twists and mysteries. They keep the stories going. But, I don't like too much mushy stuff, even though it can't be helped sometimes.

It's that what this whole vampire thing is about? Fallen angels banished from heaven and become vampires here on earth as a punishment?

I am currently reading 'Midnight's Children' by Mr. Salman Rushdie. It's been an excellent read so far. It has also won the Booker of Bookers prize. Can't wait to finish it. Ciao.

I love literature and the classics, particularly British Literature. I'm fond of Jane Austen's writings. There's something about British authors. The way they write just appeals much to me. I love the library. I don't quite understand that some people don't even bother to make use of so much free access to information and knowledge. A cup of coffee(with its smell ahhh), rain or shine, with a good book. This is how I roll. :)
