Dying my hair

The gray is back in my hair and last week I went out to buy more. I just a pearl light blond by L'oreal Superior Preference. It looks really nice, of course there is a people young woman on the box lol. I wanted to do it tonight because I am going to dinner and a play tomorrow night with my friends. The trouble is I am going for a mammogram on Thursday. Now you all know that chemicals can alter the results of a mammogram, that is why they tell you not to wear powder or deodorant near the breast and underarms. The dye is for my head but I just won't take any changes I do my hair after I get the mammogram not before. any thoughts?

I wouldn't think that the dying of your hair would be a problem. I have wanted to dye mine the last few months but I am getting so much grey now I don't think it would last long. I hope yours turn out nicely.

it covers the gray for awhile and then of course it comes back.

It does cover it but not for long. In my case my hair grows fast and the grey just doesn't stay covered for long at all. I would probably have to do mine every month and i can't afford to.

@winterose You are so right about covering the gray "for a while". It seems that the solution lasts less and less.

Never heard anything to the contrary about dying your hair and having it affect the results of a mammogram. Testing facilities do warn women to not wear jewelry from your neck and chest area. They also recommend not to use deodorant, lotions, ointments, cologne, perfume or body mists anywhere near or on your b reasts or under your arms on the day you are scheduled for your mammogram. It probably was all right to color your hair since your appointment today since your appointment isn't for another two days. Waiting isn't a bad idea either. You should ask and see what the technician says about this when you get there and let us know if there is a risk of a false reading or not from hair coloring.

I will not colour my hair just in case but I will certainly ask so I will know for the next time.

i don't know enough about those things to advise anyone. It would seem to me that your head would be far enough removed from that area that it should not affect anything. The way i see it though is...why take the chance? The mammogram results are important..could be your life . I would wait if I were you to dye my hair.

You might just wanna get the mammogram done before dying your hair. Anyway, it won't take you that long to put it on.

It would probably be okay to color your hair, but it won't hurt to wait til the test is done. Good luck on your mammogram. Hope it doesn't pinch too much! Ouch on my last one!

I would chance it, seeing how long it can take to get an appointment. You can also buy chemical free organic hair dye as well. I love it, doesn't stink, lasts much longer, and much healthier for your body.
