Your English is not bad, just have faith in yourself. As you know, practice makes the perfect. I think the practice is still essential for you to learn English. Especially right now everything becomes much more convenient with the internet. I think you can even make friends with foreigners and it can make your English improved in a short time.

Yeah, you are right, practice makes the perfect.I think my lack is practice,I don't like to say, because I am afraid that I will say wrong and bad,to make others laugh. Now,what I have to do is bold to say.

Reading is to increase your vocabulary which is important if you want to communicate. listening and oral reading is for pronunciation. But for communication you need to talk to people and allow them to correct your grammar and pronunciation. From then, you can easily remember your common mistake and will eventually learn to speak. When I was learning chinese, I memorize words because I need vocabulary. Oral reading helped me master the tones. Then I dialogue with people, allowing them to point out my mistakes. Indeed I improved.

Hi there Anzhixin72! Welcome to Mylot! English is important as it is known as the universal language. Like you, most of us take its importance for granted when we were studying, having the mentality that what is important is just t pass the subject and graduate and we can get rid of it altogether. However, we cannot really stay away from English even after agraduation since most of the time, it is the language used in job interviews, meeting, conferences, and so on. Now, I am seeing that you have the right attitude regarding the language. I think you are doing the right thing, grabbing every possible way to learn more and master the language and that with lots of practice, you will see gradual improvement. Reading a lot would help, making you familiar with sentence constructions and also improve and widen your vocabulary. Just make sure that you check for definitions of words that you do not fully understand. You can also use context clues to get the meaning of new words. Listening to songs and English audio books can also help. In speaking, you can use meriam webster online to get the correct pronunciation of words. For writing, Mylot can provide you opportunities to improve that just by responding to discussions here, giving you an interesting way to practice at the same time. God bless!

There are several ways to learn english. Currently, there are plenty of language schools offer you a variety english courses with different methods of learning. I learn english by myself by listening to the radio, BBC news and reading online articles. I love BBC language a lot. You can learn proper english without particular accent. I started to interest in english and seriously study when I was at third year at university. Since then english has changed my life a lot. If I would never inerest in English, it will never be like nowaday. Currently, is an era or social network, if you don't know the second or third language (espacially enlish) you lost load of opportunities in your life. I joined mylot is also for this purpose, to improve my reading and writing skil for general communication.

Hi anzhixin72, I think the best way to learn and improve your English is to read, think and write a lot. When I say a lot I mean a lot. The more you read, ponder deeply and write the faster you'll improve. No need to study grammar books like in the old days. The use of correct grammar will come automatically if you read and write a lot. Keep doing and practising and soon you'll be an expert. Of course, remember to read good works by good authors or article writers. If you read rubbish you're going to get garbage. Hope that helps. Have a nice day.

Yeah, English is very important language to understand and master. Since English is universal language. It’s very useful to know and master English. Even land a job is easy if you fluent in English in any country. If you want to learn English well, you could read many books which contain English, whether it’s fiction or not and studying English grammar and vocabulary from books special on that matter. I learned most of my English from playing Role Playing Games.

Hello there. I am a Filipino, and I am proud of that. However, I know that learning English is a good help to get great jobs so I tried really hard to learn it and get to know it like my native language. I learned so much from reading a lot of books, and having a dictionary beside me so I could easily check what hard words meant. Also, watching English movies and series could help. Good luck!

yes,for the english, firstly,we would recite the words as much as possible, because, even if we would not know the grammer, for most sentences, generally speaking,we would know the meanings of the sentence, secondly,we would recite the grammers, understand the grammers, how do we use the grammers in a sentence? thirdly,we should often watch the english movie,it is better for us,for sometimes we should tell the difference between the American enlish and Britain enlish, especial for the pronunciation...in a word, studing english well,we should often recite.

My tips are practicing, memorizing, and using English daily. Try to write down some topics daily, i.e diary, to improve your writing skill. Think and express what you wanna say in English directly, not translate a word from your mother tongue to English.
