Can't cure stupid

This lady comes into work, dyed hair, fake nails, and plastered makeup. She comes up with this attitude, I'm thinking great. She goes my cat keeps p*ssing on everything, I want it gone, so take it. I stood there going are you stupid. I said well sorry I work at a pet food store, we don't accept animals, but you can surrender the animal at the local shelter but a fee is charged. She insisted she tried this, and noone responded her calls, and she doesn't have the $250 to put the cat down. I tried suggesting options, as usually peeing on things isn't just for fun, marking teritories, urinary infections, stones, stress, and the list goes on. She kept going well I don't care, I've tried everything (oh except bringing it to the vets to check for anything - but that doesn't matter). I had 3 customers just standing there with their mouths hangining open, even a few commented at how irresponsible and stupid she was. So when your cat is peeing everywhere let's give the problem to someone else, or kill it because your just too stupid to care. She had said how she spent $100 on food for this cat, and doesnt work. I stood there and go well I'll trade you my $500 anyday, she gave me this look. Obviously the issue is more than the food can handle, or it's another issue. I can't believe people, then when she was walking out, she goes well I'm moving anyways and she can't come with me (yet as she carried on in the store she said she has 3 other cats, and a dog yet they can go). I hope she goes to a vet as most vets refuse to put them down, surrender them, and find a home this cat will be happy in clearly not with this idiot.

It's against the law here to abandon an animal when you move. I hope she goes to jail if she does.

The laws arn't as strict for cats, or any small animals. It's more for dogs, which is odd but years ago when tehy made the laws the problems were dogs, now it's the overpopulation of cats.

It's against the law here as well, but unless the cat is microchipped you can't trace the cat back.

I am surprised as well, she came in and bought cat food a few days ago. I asked how the cat was and she goes well still peeing on everything.

If she has that attitude and three other cats plus a dog, I would think the p-ing is more editorial comment on the cat's part than anything else. But you're right, of course, kitty should be checked by a vet to rule out anything physical.

Kitty may be used to it, but obviously Kitty is Not Amused with it and is trying to say so in the only way she can to this woman (who doesn't speak cat at all).

I tried telling her that and no way is it that. She just seems rather stupid to say the least.

She's just too stupid saying 3 years ago the cat was checked (well she could have a urinary issue now). How change in environment or even change in routine could do this, she goes well she should be use to the change in routine weekly.

I would say that this is a case of even more than stupidity, I would say that it is also ignorance. Some people just can't see the fact that animals are living creatures and they view them more as just stupid breathing inanimate objects. It is horrible what some people do to their pets and I too really hope that this cat is able to somehow find a loving owner. You are completely right when you say that animals just don't pee on things because they think it's fun. From my experience I have found that pets pee on things when they are treated badly. My girlfriend hates dogs and she is always mean to my dogs. One day my dog came down stairs and peed directly on her sweatshirt after she took it off. Perhaps this lady's cat was just trying to get revenge on her for being so inhumane.

Based on the description of this bimbo and reading snippets of her conversation with you, the animals will most likely be abandoned. When they are finally picked up by the SPCA if they aren't killed first, they will most likely be put down. She obviously didn't have the capability to take care of the animals in the first place and was too stupid to realize this before she got them. You're right, you cannot cure stupid, and sadly the world population keeps growing, and stupidity is exponential to this growth. Soon the entire world will be full of morons like in the movie "Idiocracy" because the stupid are the type to breed and have 8 kids they cannot handle in the first place..much like this woman with her animals she cannot take care of. I've just learned to ignore the idiots and avoid conversations or contact at all costs.

I also think it is not possible not to treat stupid. I think it is always good to avoid making silly mistakes as far as possible. I think sometimes we do meet people who makes mistakes like this.

I am glad that I don't have your job because I think that I would have found it hard to answer her in a polite way. She sounds like a very irresponsible pet owner and I feel sorry for her cat. I think that she should have taken the cat to a shelter, that would have been the best thing to do because it would have given the cat a chance to find a proper home with people who cared about their pet. I am afraid that she is simply going to abandon the cat because that is cheaper and easier than contacting the local shelter. Some people should never have bought a pet in the first place, and she sounds like one of those people.

I think the lady is very peculiar, her activities shows it very well. As you mentioned the cat is free from her. That's good time for it
