Do you have X-ray as the body check every year?

X-ray - X-ray check

Many people have the body check every year. I wonder whether you will have the X-ray to check your lungs? Every year I will skip this check since I think X-ray is not so good for our body. It is a kind of radiation. If it is not necessary, I will not have the X-ray check.

Here we have a birthday checkup mainly to go through what medications you are taking and whether you still need certain medications, you cannot re-order medication until you have had your birthday checkup, no X-ray is included. I usually have a blood test to monitor my thyroxine levels and my liver function. The last time I had an x-ray was when I had an accident falling off my mountain bike, fortunately my left arm was badly bruised and not broken/fractured.

Fortunately right now we can choose whether we need to have an X-ray check every year. I just don't understand my colleagues since they must have this check. If they are alright, why create more problems? I wonder whether they want to find something wrong with them

I wouldn't think that there would be any reason for a x-ray every year. I think the only time you would need an x-ray is when there is an injury, to see how badly it is.

I've had a lot of x-rays, but all of them were looking for injuries. Now, if you have ever been exposed to TB then you test positive to a TB test, here in the states, you have to have an x-ray to prove that you don't have TB because you could spread it if you work in the food industries.

But perhaps you don't have to have the X-ray check so often.

No, I don't unless I need them. Usually that costs money and our health care wont all it unless required.

No point in wasting money, it can be as a preaacution. Getting it every so many years may be more reasonable.

I just had my Xray once when one of the agencies I had been applied required me to undergo over all check up and after that nothing follows. I guess you are right and I heard also from others that taking X ray is not that really good in our health because it have millions of radiation that absorbs our body.

I honestly have never heard of someone having a chest X-ray every year unless they previously had lung cancer. I would tell whoever IS doing that to stop it. It's best to avoid any kind of radiation. In fact, if you get a choice at the airport between getting screened or getting a pat down, doctors recommend getting the pat down. The more radiation we avoid, the better. People may not think much of it, but having bad ill and subsequently over the years having had so many X-rays, Cat scans and MRIs, I'm very aware of how often I have them, and try to avoid them.

i do a yearly x-ray since it was included in our health card. Furthermore, this is a requirement that we submitted to the HR department for their record that we are still fit for our work.

I already had X-ray twice this year to check on my spine and heart. X-ray is part of our annual physical examination so I am expecting to undergo this test August or last quarter of this year. I also had CT-scan this year and I do not know if it has the same effect but I felt dizzy when I had that one which I don't experience whenever I undergo X-ray test. As for having X-ray annualy, I think it is some kind of prevention that is why they require each employee to undergo this test especially if you work in the industry where you are exposed to chemicals or something that could affect your lungs, heart and bones. If they do this annualy, they could easily distinguished if there are changes in your health and so could give early treatment and cure. It would not be good if sickness such as lung problem will only be treated when they are already severe.

I heard that the X-ray can kill the good and healthy cells. As to CT scanning, I am not sure about it.

No, I only have X-ray check my body when some one told me it's neccessary. such as traveling or studying abroad. I think X-ray is harm for body and I really do not think it's such useful that I have to do every year. I do not smock or drink, care about my health well. People do not have to do this if they care about thire bodies so carefully.

I never check my body using X-ray, but I take blood check to control my cholesterol, blood sugar and HB. I think X-ray have negative affect that often touch our body. I agree with you, I never using X-ray if it is not necessary.

I also learnt that X-ray is not good for our body . I had taken once due to breathing difficulty. The doctor insisted I had an X-ray done. However, I would not opt to have taken any X-ray unless it is necessary
