O.K. So do you ever think that you're the only one who has a clue? I don't know if people are wound up so tightly or are just too wrapped up in life, problems or electronic gadgets. So often, I try to converse with someone and I'm getting a blank stare in return. Duh!! I'm so ready for my own planet that it isn't even funny. Maybe there is too much radiation with all of these devices. Over exposure is causing brain cells to fry.

I guess when people stare they are just tired of something or just tired Yeah, electronics, especially TV makes us dumb. We get brainwashed everyday. Often if you talk to someone you don't understand why he or she doesn't understand you and vice versa. So people often rely on ''ready hotfixes'' that are delivered by the media or by group thinking. We all know it's wrong but noone has a clue what to do against it. So yes, brain cells are exposed to a lot of harmful ''radiation'' but to me it rather seems they get frozen than fried

Ah, frozen brain cells. You may be on to something. You also hit the nail on the head by alluding to the fact that the ones relying so heavily on devices are often times unable to think for themselves. Maybe if they push this button on the phone, they will get the answer. Wow, how sad. I use gadgets and devices sparingly. My preference is the old school. When I read a book, it's a hard copy book not an ebook.

You make an excellent point, stk40m. If more people were as conscientious about the environment as you are and would carefully think things through before causing all this damage, well, I think we both agree that the planet would be much cleaner than it is. Your avatar itself shows how much you care. Thank you for your valuable input.

yeah, I also prefer reading hard copy books and when it comes to devices and technology I rather first like to know how they work before I use them. It has also become important to me how much they may affect the environment. If they turn out to be harmful to it I try to avoid using them. Although electronics is sometimes inevitable I try to use mechanical devices whereever possible. Everything that needs to be powered by electric current originating from power plants or worse that is directly powered by fossil fuels - most machines in short - remind me of destruction and not of preservation. Destruction also because something explodes or burns. And except for us humans I don't know a single animal species that would like fire.

Hi there, I think the OP questioned if there is mundane intelligent life. But it's just a guess

hi betlynfrnds sometimes when I say something and use a big word then people tease me as they had not a clue as to what I was talking about. This leaves me feeling stupid or are they the ones who are stupid?. I am not ready for my own planet but hate that odd stare as if I had suddenly been talking Greek.

Oh, Hatley, don't let others take the wind out of your sails. Bring their I don't have a clue what you are saying selves back into your own court and then use what ever elementary terms you can come up with to carefully explain what you are trying to get across. Usually one of two things will happen: either they will get it and then you are left with being the genius or they won't. Either way you are the one who got a clear point across leaving your listeners with egg on their faces. If you know what your big words mean then they are the dumb ones.

Not that I ever for a minute consider myself to be of superior intellect, there ARE a LOT of people that I find just don't get it. It is annoying as hell.
