Got our new computer this morning

Jim purchased a computer from a coworker of his for $50 this morning. Richard barely used it, so when he learned ours bit the dust, he offered it to Jim for $50. Jim thought it would be a no-name one, or something like an Acer, but when he came home, it turned out to be an e-Machine! I had one for years and so did my dad-they were rebuilt by a friend of his, but I never had any complaints. This one was filthy-Richard is a heavy smoker, so I spent some time today trying to clean it off. It was DISGUSTING! I've hooked everything up except the speakers and Internet (which is temporarily off), and turned it on. We were excited-finally, I could get some work done! Then that dreaded message: Enter Password. We tried password, Password, and PASSWORD-nothing. The hint said 'RWB' so I tried that-still nothing. I tried to change the password and was prompted for a special disk, which we weren't given. So I shut it down. Hopefully Jim remembers to ask Richard for the password tonight!

Better ask for the password. Or else you'll need a computer geek to access it and change the password for you. Hopefully the password was not forgotten. Glad you have a new computer. Nice Job!!

The previous owner gave us some ideas, but so far, they haven't worked. I'll keep trying-I'm not too I interested in paying someone to fix it right now.

I believe there is a program that is boot in a cd/dvd, which resets the administrator password of your account.

That was really cheap. I hope you can already get the password. That might cost a hundred bucks, he he. Just joking. Well, anyway password issue is only a minor thing. Yeah as one of our friends said, that might be the full name of Richard. Have a great day!

The original owner can't remember it! I think I'm going to try logging in as the administrator and see if that works. If it does, I'll just reset the name of the user account to mine with my own password.
