Prince William: Princess Diana

Prince William takes great pains to keep his mother, the late Princess Diana, present in his life. Most notably, he presented his beloved Catherine with Princess Diana's world-renowned sapphire and diamond engagement ring, which his brother, Prince Harry, had been holding safe. His coat of arms and standards bear a single red seashell, borrowed from the triple shells of the Spenser family heraldry. I predict this seashell will be carried down his lineage hence, beginning with his first child, due July 2013. If this child is a daughter, he and wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, are expected to feature Diana prominently among her names. In addition, His Royal Highness maintains a keen stewardship of Princess Diana's many charitable causes and organizations. If Princess Diana were still with us, she would most certainly be glowing with pride in the future King of England she helped to shape.

Hello maria, hope all is well in your corner of the world. Princess Diana is indeed missed throughout the world. Fortunately, her spirit lives on in Princes William and Harry and now Catherine, as they carry on her good works and her intent for them to be fun-loving honest people who can cook and clean with their own two hands and understand the plights of those outside their circle of privilege. The best is yet to come, so far as Prince William and his mother's intentions and legacies are concerned.

I was glad to see William, Catherine and Harry having fun and laughs at the Batman section of the film studio during their recent visit together. Prince William showed both his responsible and light hearted sides when he asked if the Batmobile or Batpod had baby seats available. Sweetheart of a guy!

Hello thomaszz, thanks for joining us. Princess Diana was indeed a most stylish woman and Prince William's wife Catherine carries that torch nicely. Just imagine what the world would be like had Diana lived to her senior years. I think that's what Prince William will strive to create with each coming year. He is a great credit to her devotion as a mother and deeply concerned citizen of the world.

This is for sure! He is a classy guy just like his mom was. She walked with grace and poise and I still miss her being on this earth. She was a good mom and great person in giving of her time and money to help others. She would be so proud of Prince William today. He has definitely grown up to be a person who cares for others and continues her legacy working with the less fortunate in continuing her work that she did with so many charities.

Hi lelin, thanks for joining in this discussion about Prince William and Princess Diana. I believe she would be proud of just about everything he has done that the public knows about: search and rescue work, working with children in Kenya (remember Diana was a kindergarten teacher before her marriage), carrying on her land mine eradication and other projects and selecting a life partner who is so compatible with Diana's values.

Princess Diana, I admire her. She had good attitude, as mother, wife. But Why Charles didn't feel lucky to get her as his wife. Hopefully she would be happy in heaven. Prince William....be loyal to your wife forever, be generous, never leave Catherine, keep continous your mother holding charitable and organization

Hello bintang, it's a pleasure to have you join this discussion on Prince William and his lovely and powerful mother, the late Princess Diana. She was a magnificent wife and mother. Unfortunately, it was her very royal lineage and virginity that the royal family was after. Her marriage to Prince Charles had nothing whatsoever to do with love, most painfully for her. And she was much too young at the time to fully understand what she was in for or properly stand up for her rights. Thank goodness, with age and experience came maturity and she made history in so many ways. I fully believe her commitment to her sons carried her through to that point and onward, being her chief joy in life. Prince William no doubt wants Catherine to enjoy a happier life than his mother's early years as a royal wife. I believe the facts that they are the same age, have a long history together prior to marriage and that Catherine is older and knows Diana's history going in, that things will go much better for them and their children. Prince William has already shown his protectiveness and concern toward his wife's happiness, health, safety and freedom, and I expect it will grow with the arrival of their children.

I love Princess Diana. She's one strong, remarkable woman, and is my personal icon. She didn't have a perfect royal marriage, despite the extravagant royal wedding. But even if they separated, she stayed a great and faithful mother to her kids. She had always exuded elegance and was always so graceful, like a true queen.

Thanks for commenting, lizzie. Princess Diana was indeed an amazing woman, a brave lady we can all look up to forever. While it was terribly sad that her marriage to Prince William's father was a tragically empty relationship that cost her a great deal, she got her wits about her and won new rights for royals, particularly women, as well as learned to use the media to her advantage for the support of her charitable interests. Prince William, already vigorously enforcing Princess Diana's legacy of rights, both human and royal, will make certain the world never forgets his most extraordinary mother.
