Have you heard of "Oggy and the Cockroaches" cartoons? The can be shown in Disney Channel (DC) and Cartoon Network (CN). They have newer episodes in CN than DC. Anyway, it's about Oggy the cat that lives with three cockroaches, Dee dee, Marky and Joey plus other characters as Jack (the other cat), Bob (the dog), and Olivia (white oggy cat). This silent cartoon's story revolves with Oggy and the three pesky roaches, which everyday is a day to regret. These insects try to eat his fridge up, take all what he have, and just generally messing up with each other's lives, but usually the roaches start it. A lot of swatting, toe crushing, falling things, throwing things at each other, and generally a lot of hurting. And here's their number one fan - Zami, my almost-three-year-old daughter. My daughter's been loving all this hurting and she even imitates scenes oftentimes. Like the crying onion, talking carrot, Oggy swatting the roaches, Jack's crying like a baby and many more. She even does it when we're playing and not watching Oggy. But this cartoon's form is just like Tom and Jerry. I know most of us would be more familiar mentioning this cartoon. And we all know how much hurting we see here as well. But why do this appeal to children? They laugh at scenes that causes violence. I may call it violence since they cause hurt. You know they got hurt because the after off-cam scene of hitting sounds shows a distorted, hairless, bruised character. Do we have to stop children from watching these shows? Make an appeal to TV networks to cancel these shows? Or keep children away from TV forever? Thanks for sharing!

This show really doesn't appeal to me. And I myself am wondering how young kids, including my son, love to watch it. I mean, how can anyone find cockroaches adorable. And the slapstick type of violence isn't something that kids should be watching. I also think that concerned groups should find ways to limit or stop show like this. Tom and Jerry at least have classical music as background at times, although I don't feel that these nice music could offset the violence the characters engage in.

I cannot agree more. (bow) What we're trying to do is to stay away from those channels at the schedule the show is being shown. But sometimes we can't help but let her see it once a day because she's so behave and we can do house chores very quickly and easily. (facepalm) Dunno what to do...
