We have nokia phones here selling in the street and muslim vendors too. It is called China phones. A reject phone from Nokia cellphone factory.This is brand new too but you can diferentiate the original and the local/china phone. right after you open your nokia its has smaller font than original nokia. also with such cellphones you are not able to used gprs or internet. I don't know why in china phones you can't but in original nokia you can use the wifi /internet. Also it always encounter problems in the cellphone compared to original nokia just like mine. I drop it many times in the floor for years, but till now it is still working.
But most people prefer china phones for the price is only one-fourth to one-half the price of Original Nokia brand in the store.Plus the waranty if you buy original you will get 1 year warranty if you buy to the muslim you will get up to 3 months warranty or replacement.

Cheap Chinese mobile phones are banned here in India because these phones pose as a security threat to the county as unlike proper, branded handsets, these duplicate copies have fake International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. They also eat into earnings of branded manufacturers and pose as health risk to users.

I have seen those items when I was still in the Philippines, especially in bazaars and "tiangges". Not to be a total prude about it but I prefer the original ones, even the older models because I believe that I will be saving more money that way. I can use that phone for years without having to go and buy replacements for parts or having them fixed. And I can even re-sell them. For me that's cheaper than having to buy a china one then having to pay for the maintenance and repairs.

you will find a lot of them in mexico as well it is a way that other cell phone company's around the world can use the phone designed to what that area uses it is not to say there is any thing wrong with that phone it could be that the cell phone company is behind the times
