Dear, I am using Dell Inspiron laptop with windows vista operating system & intel dual core processor. problem with this laptop is, it is not shutting down or restarting properly. when ever I tried to shut down or restart it , screen remains static showing "shutting down" for a countless time. I had to shut it down forcefully by using power button, I am afraid it may lead to crash of my operating system of laptop. Please suggest some effective measure to cope up with this problem. Thanks mahatav

That can be very frustrating. I had that type of problem with my laptop too. I had to take it back to the store I bought it from. They have a service section. They serviced it, and it is back to normal now. I don't know what they did, but they did a good job.

Hello, please answer the following questions so I can help you further: - How long have you been using this laptop? - Did shutting down work before? If yes: - What did you do in the few days before it stopped working? - When you open the Task manager (CTRL ALT DELETE or CTRL SHIFT ESC) and change to the "processes" tab, what processes do you see there? (Playe make several screenshots, or type all processes in here, for better help :) ) Forced shutdown should normally not harm the computer, however, it is theoretically possible, so let's try to find a solution :) Have a nice day!
