Have you ever hit rock bottom? What did that feel like? I hear the "rock bottom" phrase used a lot for addicts, specifically alcoholics. They always say they all hit rock bottom before getting help. Then I think of people who lost their jobs and have exhausted every avenue of getting work. That's got to be tough. I guess each of us has our rock bottom. And now having written "rock bottom" so many times I'm trying to think of the phrase literally. It's kind of weird.

Hitting the rock bottom situation has never risen in my life. It has been a smooth flow so far and I have no reason to believe that it will be any other way in the future too. Probably it has got to do with my ability to find happiness in small things and also the understanding that everyone has problems so why shouldn't I?

Funny you should ask that AmbiePam... I hit it again this morning and it was the worst so far. And literally not a single thing I can do to fix it. I pray, but God doesn't even answer so I dont' know what I am going to do and now.

I understand that feeling. And knowing God is there isn't the same as feeling Him being there. We can know it in our head, but just not feel it in our hearts.

I've been down a few times but have not been to where you had been - rock bottom. I believe it must be terrible especially when I see some of my girlfriends reaching that stage. I've been fortunate to be able to stand back up and grew stronger from each fall. So, I always make it a point to help others without hesitation in stretching out my hand.

I have never hit rock bottom or at least I don't think I have. I have been down and almost out before but not quite. Life in general is all how you look at the goods and bads, ups and downs. A person can choose to let problems keep them down or they can do something about it. Alot of the time that is easier said than done.

Rock bottom meaning that you are stone walled. There is no further way down to go. Being the worst in you rlife. I have been there ambiepam. Only prayer and the grace of God helped me up - one step at a time.

"Rock bottom" to me sounds painful.. like hitting the rock floor hard and fast.. I think I was there a time or two.. before I found Jesus back in 1979!

I must say - I have had some hard times in life, but never could I truly say I've "hit rock bottom" because no matter how bad it's ever was, it was still "doable" and "tolerable". I always had food to eat, a roof over my head - basically I've never been without the necessities of life - that in itself is a whole lot more than some others have period. The worst for me would probably be some kind of emotional "rock bottom" - but even then I can't really complain. Yah, it must be super tough to truly hit rock bottom - I hope to never go there.

hi dear Ambie I hit rock bottom when I helped care for my mother against my own conviction and will but didnt have a chance to change any thing about it because of my upbringing and the influence my maternal family still had in my life thought I was already married and living in another town. When I was in the situation I had already planned how I would handle things when my mother would have been gone and that along with the knowledge that my time would come when I stand up against their way of treating me and that I would be the winner in the end gave me the stamina to go from day to day.

I am sorry for not able to share the real feeling of "hit rock bottom" as I have not come across such scenario and I truly hope that will not happen in my life as it is surely not a good thing to experience . However, I came to know of someone who had experienced it. Life was really difficult for him. Everything seems to go against him and he was being reduced to "zero" in terms of status, finance and family. However, he managed to recover and leading a good life after some years due to his honesty, diligent, God fearing man and obviously God's blessing upon his life !

Hitting rock bottom was about the time of an addiction to painkillers, and having to go to rehab because of it. Not a fun experience.
