What an irony so to speak! Why hide the truth? Dan Brown's "Inferno", a fiction novel, mentioning Manila as "gates of hell" with a great scale of poverty, with a horrible traffic jam, among others became the center of criticism among the Filipino, especially the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Francis Tolentino. Tolentino wrote Brown by exposing how he was "disappointed" of Brown's novel. He hopes that Brown would be careful in his next novel if ever Brown will use Manila. Concerned Filipino had varied reactions to this too. However, most of them were saying that there's reality on what Brown has written on the novel. Other critics said why hide reality. The controversial novel whether speaks the truth or not it should be read and be evaluated as to the lesson what it is trying to drive at. If there's truth on it, let it stand and accept the fact. I think Brown knows what he is doihg. He knows what to write and what to exclude.
