why do men throw away true love and loyalty so easily?!

I have a boyfriend whom I have seen for about 3 months. It's the 1st time I know about his cheating part. hurts me badly. makes me feel completely devastated. I found out that he once had a midnight chat with a random girl and proposed a one-night stand, which failed. after that, he kept her on cellphone contact list and chat with her now and then. in their conversation ,he flirted with her a lot and denied himself having a girlfriend. Ironically, this happened after we met, after he called me the one, the significant, indispensable half, after we became an exclusive couple, and before our first sex. besides, he said hi to several random girls yesterday afternoon, when he was supposed to work so hard that he couldn't even give me a call. The pure, faithful , perfect image of him I build in my deep heart is broken. He doesn't deserve my whole heart and loyalty, which I values so much and protect so carefully. I can't understand what men want. they just throw away happiness and true love so easily and carelessly! I loved him so truly. but it was gone.

sounds like he was not ready to be in a committed relationship, and it sucks that he lied and told you he was. You are probably better off with out him....i know it hurts...but just don't lose hope, not all men are like that. As they say, there are other fish in the sea and someday you will find your perfect catch!

thank you! that sounds wise and comforting. love is blind. I feel I'm a little bit blind now cause I still want to keep him on watch and see if he will change.

Such is the way of the player? This is people, not a man or a woman thing by the way. Any how, I hope your heart heals and you find a much better man who won't take your love and loyalty for granted.

neither of us should take the other's love and loyalty for granted. It's a mutual thing. I really hope men can understand.

It is really sad to hear that he betrayed you and your faith. May be he was not fit for you and you came to know about real him sooner than later. It would be difficult to forget him but life has to move and this episode has taught you s lesson to be remembered.

@ami2007 - Yes, you deserve an honest man who could be faithful to you. If you are honest you would expect others to be honest, else it is difficult to get along.

Could be a lot of things. He wasn't ready to settle down. You weren't "the one". He's just a player. Hope you find somebody who's right foryou. Sounds like he wasn't it...

I had painful experiences before with men like this, but I also have some female friends who are acting exactly like these men. So it's not a gender thing, it's just how they are. You may not believe it now, but you will get over it and you will find someone better. Do your best to heal the pain and move on, don't let him or men like him, keeps you from believing that true love exists and that you will find it.
