Am Staying Home for the 'Doctor Who'-Marathon, but Don't Think I Can Endure It All-at-Once!

Today is the 50th anniversary celebration of DOCTOR WHO. And today--leading up to the live simulcast of "The Day of the Doctor" (in which BOTH Doctor 10 David Tennant AND Doctor 11 Matt Smith venture to ... SPOILERS (not really))--is a DOCTOR WHO marathon, showing the entire 'most-recent' season (they're calling it the "seventh," but is that just after the reboot? (or did they cram multiple-doctors into seasons-past?)) Realizing I hadn't seen EVEN ONE EPISODE of the latest season, I planned to stay home to watch it. I may catch a few of the final episodes of the season, but I realized that the only way 're-runs' can be the special treat they sometimes are is if I DON'T see them in-sequence! (which is a shade of the reason the STAR WARS series started with "4"---something-like 'the middle doesn't feel as "special" if you know the beginning before it & the ending after it). But I'll get some work done around home anyway (and no, I don't mean 'housework' ... although "the scraps of paper on the floor aren't going to pick THEMSELVES up!") What do you think? Isn't DOCTOR WHO better as a collection of little stories than as a major epic?

They're playing the 'Day of the Doctor' again on BBCA tonight, and it features ALL 13 INCARNATIONS of The Doctor! (the 11 we know plus the very-very first one (the one that was in the Time War) AND the one we haven't met yet)

@jimbo45reborn but it DID kinda 'solve the main mystery' (kinda like STAR WARS V & MATRIX RELOADED) ... kinda illuminates fans on The Doctor's background and his purpose in life.

I finally found my people. I watched The 50th Anniversary several times, and now own it on DVD, and there are so many theories, controversies, and so many great events and negative aspects about it. Positives: Paul McGann came back for six or seven minutes (McFann right here), Tom Baker came back, we got our first glimpse of Peter Capaldi, and I loved seeing John Hurt, David Tennant, and Matt Smith acting together. They were all amazing. There were a few plot holes here and there (as there always is with Moffat and his writing), but it was to be expected because this is The 50th Anniversary and it was not going to be perfect, but it sure was filled with fun and excitement, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching every minute of it.
