Eating Healthier - and worried out of my mind

A few days ago I posted on facebook something along the lines of "I'm worried but I can feel everything will be ok. Prayers and positive thoughts needed." A few of you are on my friends list and have seen this post. You may also be wondering to what I refer. I didn't respond to anyone there, though I saw the inquisitive concern conveyed. I'm worried because about a week ago I felt a lump on the underside (top part) of my armpit. Now for those who are unawares, this can mean several different things. The worst of which is breast cancer, but it can also be a lymph node as well. I thought it appeared after shaving one day but it hasn't gone away and it does not feel quite like a razor bump I have gotten there before. I know that I need to go to the doctor - or a clinic - but I don't have insurance. I'm also terrified of what they might say. It could be nothing, it could be something. I've done a little reasearch online but not alot. I know if I do alot I'll just worry myself more. I have not told anyone in my family. That's one reason why I didn't respond to anyone on facebook. The last thing I need is my family worrying over me, especially one woman who doesn't realize that the worry and concern she spews is overboard and overwhelming, especially for someone like me who just wants to be left alone when injured or sick. I've been eating a lot healthier and cutting back on what I consume that is not healthy. I'm going to wait a little bit and check it every day, see if it shrinks or what. I know I need to go to the doctor soon, or to a clinic. However, I worry about money expenses, about having to quit my job further down the line, I worry and I don't want to have to deal with it.

Stress and worry will make things worse..no insurance?..well at least go to emergency and see what someone there says..that way you can at least make payments but don't let it linger too long..is there a woman's clinic nearby?..Go there and ask for help..Good Luck hun

i know stress can be very bad for the body and mind. i am not sure if there is a woman's clinic near by. I think if push comes to shove I can go to the downtown health clinic. i know of a clinic that takes payment and is close to me. I will give them a call first.

We always need to seek the help of the medical professional. If it is not something that we should worry about, then your mind will be cleared. On the other hand, if this is a serious thing, then you can still do something than waiting for it to become severe.

You are very right but I don't trust the medical profession very much. Especially since they are so easily bought by the pharmaceutical industry.

So this is what it is. You will continue to worry until you know what it is. Didn't you sign up for healthcare? See if there are any clinics where you can get seen quickly or else borrow the money. you need to know! And quickly too!

@ScribbledAdNauseum Get organised and first get an appointment and find out the cost and then take it from there but make the appointment now. You are putting yourself through torture by not taking action. Amber - it will not go away and you must find out NOW what it is. Take charge of your health and get advice NOW. Sweetie - please do it!

This is worrying indeed specially when you say you have no insurance. A lump can be anything. Homoeopathy is good in such cases but I do not know if you get it there without a doctor's prescription. You can put up your symptoms in any of those homoeopathy sites and search for answers.
