Today while I was out and about I almost ran over a turtle

I dislike running over any critter in the roadway, I was lucky I was on a road that is not traveled much so I was able to stop and move the turtle out of the road and into the grassy area where it would not be run over. I have done this for some stray dogs also and found their homes nearby. I tried putting in a picture of the turtle but for some reason it did it show.

I once was driving, this is years ago mind you. Down a busy street. As I was driving a cat ran under my car. I heard a thump. But I screeched to a halt, got out and the cat wasn't there. I think he bounced under the car, didn't hit a wheel, which is good, and then probably ran off. So, I almost killed it. I don't like that. But that was a pure accident.

@minx267 I was shaken up about that. I couldn't live with myself if it got killed. I know it was out of my control. But I always try to avoid animals on the road.

That was very kind of you do to that! I am sure many people out there wouldn't have even cared to do a generous thing like that! Good for you!

I would feel awful if I ever hit an animal no matter how big or how small. @VivaLaDani

If we see a turtle and we can help it, we will. I certainly hate to hit or run over anything.

I accidentally hit a snapping turtle in the road before... because the car in front of me drove over it.. and by the time I saw it come out from under their car it was to late for me to avoid hitting it also.. I felt horrible!

Lovely happening you managing to not run over it. So often we try to dodge snakes that shoot out into the Road but alas we canĀ“t stop in time. Have saved a lot of Birds too.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I haven't seen any snakes lately either maybe it is to cold for them but we see lots of bunnies around. Good the bird wasn't injured. Thank You and you have a Wonderful New Year.

@Marcyaz No snakes to be seen at the moment and there is a crazy little Dog that darts out almost into the road barking away. But he is smart enough not to go into the road itself. Good thing. A bird hit the car today but it got off with no injury thank goodness. Take care and have a great year ahead.

That is good that you moved the turtle out of the road so it would not be hit.
