Lion Love....

He was left for dead and he was dying that was a fact. He thought he would not be able to get up there was no strength only a great sense of weakness. Sun beat down on him and he could not even get to any shade or any water. He waited to die, he could do no other. A lady came by his side and gave the orders for them to put him very gently in the truck and take him back to the house pretty quick. He only saw her with his weakened vision but did not think about anything in particular. Days later he opened his eyes slowly now there was no pain he felt stronger. He felt he was able to get up again and even eat a little. There was that Lady again he thought she must have saved me. She saved my life. But fate tore the two of them apart to different parts of the World. Five years on he was in a Cage somewhere but still alive and well. In the moment he saw her he put his big paws through the Cage and "hugged" her gently trying to tell her "thank you for saving my life". Lady was very moved to see him again and he to see her. Some miracles do exist.

I thought the dying one was a man until I saw the word "cage" and then I took notice of the title..... so, it was a lion not human. This is a good story!

Just my way of writing. I wanted to put across the great big welcome hug he gave her when he saw her it was very moving and after five years so animals do remember things.xxx

@lovinangelsinstead21 I amazed with the lion's power to retain that the face of his savior in his memory.

@salonga We have a dog that we rescued treated badly and he still remembers how badly he was treated. To this very day although he is very happy he will still behave in a certain way at odd times. Takes time and love to forget what they did. Our dog can remember also the ring of different doorbells as we have had to move three times since and every time he hears one on the Tele he thinks its our door bell. So they do have memory its a fact.

@lovinangelsinstead21 ...Well, that is a bad attitude if I heard one. You can't be a writer by talking yourself out of every showing off any of your writing. Come on!

@celticeagle But I only mean it in the good sense lol. Also I would not put really long stories on here. Thanks for the comment anyway.

Thank you very much. It brings out the faith in me that we can all be good to each other. I try to make Stories short but my main stories are so much longer but I don´t want to bore anyone to tears.

Animals are lucky, their dreams get fulfilled even after a long time. I read many stories like this. May be they are patient enough to wait positively.

A lovely poetic story, rather like Aesop's fable of the mouse taking a thorn from a lion's paw
