Exotic Animals

I bring this up, cause my youngest son whom is 21 keeps asking me for $37,000.00 (like I would have that kind of money). When I ask him what he needs that for his reply is, he wants to buy a White Bengal Tiger. Not sure what he would do with it, cause it wouldn't stay at my house. Now, I have heard of people who have actually purchased such animals or other exotic animals as pets. I guess if you have the money for them, then you can if you want. I think for myself the most out of the norm animal I have ever wanted would be a wolf. The jet black wolf just looks to be a beautiful thing. If you were to buy an exotic animal, what you want?

I wouldn't buy an exotic animal as I have two dogs and besides, exotic animals like tigers and lions and others, belong in the wild, as in most states it is illegal to even own a lion or tiger. I like looking at them from a distance in zoos and things like that, but that is all. I wouldn't want to take them from their natural habitat.

I agree with you, they do belong in the wild. However, that doesn't stop some people. Seems people who have money and want, get what they want. I myself wouldn't own any either.

@TexanTornado The ones that do that, aren't really thinking about the animals and what is best for them. There have been people arrested for having exotic animals in their homes, and that is sad, as I am sure the animals weren't happy being there.

@rosekiss That is all so very true. I know I visited a friend once in Idaho, and he took me to a friends house, they had a tiger in a cage in their back yard. I was a bit baffled by it.

I think the guinea pigs are about as exotic as I want to get. I love pets but at this time in my life, I am better off without any. I need to simplify. I wouldn't want any exotic pets, they don't really belong in a home.

I understand what you saying about the guinea pig. I myself have no pets, and it is probably best for me. I want to get a Macaw, but hubby won't let me. You are right, I couldn't see a tiger prowl around in my home. I would be scared I would be their next meal.

Oh too cool.. Yes, I find the wolf to be a mystical creature. I don't know, there is just something about them.

Awww that is great. If I was to get a dog, I want a Siberian Husky, but they wouldn't do well in my climate, so I scratched that.

I think Koalas look adorable, maybe that would not be too bad.

Koalas are absolutely adorable. I have a friend in Australia, I told her to catch me one, and send it to me. Her reply was 'No Way!! That they can become very vicious." She did say she would catch me a kangaroo. However, I am still waiting for it.

They are beautiful in the wild.. why tame and maim the Royal Bengal tigers. They are the kings of the jungle it is sad to take their home away from them. I own one.. okay I don't; but I have adopted one from the zoo for which I pay some maintenance fee for a year. That is a better way to have a wild pet. @TexanTornado

@sofssu That is exactly why I wouldn't own one.. but it can't hurt thinking about it. I might be crazy, but I'm not completely insane, only partially.

Oh yeah, they are pretty. They simply look like a bigger version of a kitty cat, but of course with the tiger furring.
