Princess Kitty

Our black cat, Princess Inky, was a really easygoing cat. Until my sister moved in and spoiled her . With us, when she had treats it was not every day and it was in the kitchen. My sister gave her hands full of treats about every time she moved. She baby talked the cat. She fed her food from the table. I have read recently on FaceBook an article that says cats do not "talk" to each other, but usually talk in response to humans. Well Princess is now a talker. She literally howls if she does not get her way. Like if she wants out, or she thinks it is past our bed time. Hubby and I are now suspecting that in the evening she yells at us and is distressed if we are not in the same room. Like if he is sleepy and goes to bed but I continue online. She was mad at me, he was up folding laundry and she got very loud. He came back down to the computer and she got quiet. What do you think, is she upset if we are not together?

May be because your sister was talking and you are not probably she misses that. Anyway whatever it is I find it quite charming Preiti is no less. She whimpers whenever she wants my attention.

I wish that petting her would resolve it. She used to only like my husband, now she will allow me to pet her as well.

She has to be the loudest cat I have ever owned. Last night was the first time I ever connected that she wanted hubby and I to be together. She also likes to watch us sleep. She sits in a chair beside the bed.

Cats are like kids in that way. They throw temper tantrums when not getting their way. They are adorable of course and I have been owned by many. It may take time but I am sure you can retrain her back to the way she was before. Maybe she is afraid when you aren't together that another someone else will come in and change things up. Hard to say. I guess all you can do is love her and reassure her.

When she is not sleeping by our bed she sleeps in the shower or in the bathtub. I have had cats that really liked to sleep in the sink.

Sounds like she thinks she is in charge. I hope she settles down because you will either have a life ordered by a cat or a noisy life, lol.

I know we will have a problem even right after we move, and then we will deal with all of her behaviors at once.

obviously but she may just be missing your sister and trying to figure where she went. the feral cats act different here also when someone else is not here. they look around the back for them. i am still feeding only 4 but daughter fed more of them

@bunnybon7 she is getting better, and that was when we noticed last night that as soon as we are together she knows everything is okay. If I do train her with a spray it will be after we move, cause things are going to be so confusing for her anyway.

by the way if you want her to stop it may help if you get a spray bottle with just water and spray it at her when you want to stop her howling.

We will get her retrained about the treats because that was not healthy. I have had other cats that were bothered when they did not think we were doing the right thing.

She is behaving like a spoiled child And she has her reasins: your sister spoiled her. Even if it is funny to read about it, it is probably time to set limits. Your Princess seems to be VERY intelligent!
