Today's Question: What would you like to tell your father? My Answer: That I admire him and wish I could be there for him more. I had a rough childhood but there were many times that my dad did things because it was the best thing for us even if he didn't like it. There were many little gifts that he gave us in the form of good memories. He talked to me like I was a human not like a child to be ignored.

My Dad passed away several years ago and we never had a close relationship. He and my Mom divorced when I was young. I guess, I would ask him why he did what he did to my Mom and why he never apologized for me having to witness it as a child.

Knowing may have helped you. There is things left unsaid with some important people that I have lost .... some not so sweet things but important.

@TLChimes I think so too. He physically abused my Mom and I still remember it. As he got older and remarried, he never physically abused his second wife.

My parents are no more here. I often think at them and I pray for them.

My mother is gone so I often talk with her while I garden because it was something we shared.

Is he still around that you could tell him these things? It is so sad when I heard that people regret not doing something for something that is no longer here with us. It truly brings tears to my eyes.

He lives far away and neither of us can travel. When I call, he wants to talk about the grandchildren and life stuff that isn't too.... um... deep or important. I think because he doesn't want to get sad.

My Dad passed away 6 years ago, and if I could have him back just to say something to him, I would be quiet. I would just sit and enjoy his presence. We talked a lot, almost too much, during his days on earth, and I would welcome a moment with him alone and verbal communication wouldn't be necessary.

Some of the warmest moments are those of just being together. Dad and I would sit at the lake while he fished and I pretended to try to fish. It is still a nice memory.

My father is no more with us, so I cannot say anything to him.

Since my father has been gone for 9 years, I 'talk' to him all the time and tell him things - mostly I thank him for what he did for me and how I learned a lot watching him.
