Up and Over

Driving back from visiting my Mum in hospital this evening I came upon a traffic jam, I was fairly close to the front but couldn't quite see what the cause of the holdup was; I guessed that it was an accident. Sure and soon enough I came across a jackknifed landrover and trailer. There was glass all over the road and the occupants were laid out on the verge. An ambulance had arrived and they were doing what they could. Afterwards the standard of driving by other road users was impeccable for several miles before they returned to their bad old habits....get out of my way, I'm driving like a banshee and in a hurry......

It seems to be in the news constantly here because of Austin and construction..no one watching the road except texting..I feel so sorry for the families. Hope your Mum is better going today..!!

Be careful so you don't get into any accidents. Traffic is just crazy on my side of town with all of the construction going on.

Hello Pikey, That is a common habbit no matter what country they are driving in. I have a funny story, was driving with my dad, and this idiot driver cut us off in a hurry only to severily slow down a couple of miles later when everyone thought there was a radar, and it was just a monitoring traffic cam.

Horrid isn't it? People drive like crazy in Jamaica -too much carnage on the roads. Everyone feels that they cannot die in vehicle accidents.

It's that "It won't happen to me" mentality and then it does.

People never learn do they. They see an accident and miles later start driving bad again.

I suppose that it's a human instinct to check ourselves although it doesn't last too long.

I have so many ups in down in life...but I know that god give this problem because he know that we can handle it even thoug it is very difficult and sometimes can lose hope for us ..one thing I've learned is trust in him because he is the one who knows what's the best for us...

Oh my! The only police I saw today were at a "stop and rob" where the police cars were flashing lots of lights, either someone tried to rob them, someone shoplifted or someone tried to get gas and go without paying, harder to do in this day and age!

The sad reality is that some of the people stuck in that traffic jam were more concerned that they were inconvenienced than worried that those people might be seriously injured or worse - I know, because I have heard them comment about it when I was working. I would usually reply something like "it is definitely better to be stuck in the traffic jam than to be the cause of it" or "your day is nowhere near as bad as theirs, so you should consider yourself lucky", but they usually wouldn't get what I was trying to say.
