I'd Rather Stay Awake But People Need to Sleep

Ah too bad we need to sleep in order to recharge and rest our bodies. I used to always prefer to sleep rather than stay awake but not anymore. Nowadays I prefer to stay awake as much as I can rather than sleep as long as I can. But of course when I sleep I really sleep, as long as my body needs to. No I don't have insomnia or any sleeping disorder as far as I know but I used to have a hard time falling asleep years ago. It's been several years now that my preference changed to keeping awake as long as I can so we can't really call it insomnia anymore. It's not so bad until you realize how tired your eyes get from being awake for too long. So anyway this is my cue to finally rest and go to sleep. I'll be back later! Happy Sunday!

I'm a bit like you but not totally. I've a night owl and always struggle to drag myself away from what I'm doing when it's time to go to sleep, but then in the morning I really struggle to get up too.

hey, I am also a night owl. I used to be the same as you but in recent years I've come to decide to keep awake rather than stop myself from what I'm doing because I won't be able to sleep immediately anyway if my mind is still very awake. Even if I'm not working in the BPO industry anymore I mostly still sleep in the morning. It's weird for some but it's just how I function.

@Gina145 yes, so true. But for me it is more fun to be awake than sleeping all the time that's why I prefer not to sleep until I really need to sleep.

@owstalaga It's how I function, but it's not how I want to function. There are so many important things in my life that really need to be taken care of while the sun is shining and I need to adapt my life to fit those needs.

Your body needs to sleep, it's not good to fight to stay awake.

There is a time to be awake and the time to be asleep so even if we still want to be up and about, we have to give way to sleeping for our own benefit.

I used to do the same thing when in my teens. Found out later it was due to my depression that I had no idea of at the time. I have insomnia too. But, I like to be up during the night when it is quiet. I write and do my think online. So peaceful when no one is around. Some of that is because of the arguments and such with my daughter and grandson. He is doing much better now.

Oooh, can it be I am depressed too? Haha, I don't think I am. I am just more awake at night than in the morning, ever since I was a kid I liked to stay up late but of course I slept normally like everyone else. My mind is just more active later in the day than in the morning. I love to tinker about online too when it's late. And yes I love how it is quiet and I get to be more productive.

@celticeagle Nah it doesn't give me any problem, nor does it disrupt my life. It really is my choice unlike insomnia where you don't have a choice. Thanks!

@owstalaga - There could be a medical issue. Does it disrupt your life or are you able to cope with it? If it causes you problems I would see medical help.
