The measure allows some Epilepsy patients access to less potent cannabis oil. This is Texas' first concession on medical marijuana. It's one of nearly 700 new laws going into effect Today Whoohoo..My Brownies can now be legal!!..in oil form based only.. Come and get your Love!

I hope it isn't as stupid as the Iowa law. It legalizes cannabis oil and aimed at epileptics. That part is good. The stupid part is that it can not be purchased in the state legally and can not be manufactured here. So, one has to drive across state lines. Say you go to Colorado and buy some and drive through Nebraska and get stopped, you will be breaking the law because it is still illegal in Nebraska. They were supposed to try and fix that idiotic bill so it could be made and sold here and also open it up more. But, so far, nada.

@Gwensmom..i can see that dilemma..I know many who are growing in homes and selling to the clinic until the laws get a bit better cause right now they are doing it illegal like you mentioned.. I know they are trying but they aren't worded right

@Rosekitty When the law was written, I said it was stupid. But, I was the dumb one because it would help a lot of people. Now, that it is passed. People are saying it's stupid. Oh, really?

This is not very common in my country for medical purposes and it's illegal. I only know people here who use it to get high and I don't support them, but I don't criticise either. Cannabis is legal in Netherlands and I know a few people who visit the country mainly for this reason. I've never tried though, so maybe that's the reason I can't understand it.

@besweet..yes if you have never tried, it is unfair for you to respond like the others who have..but that doesn't mean you can't voice your opinion..

@Rosekitty I agree, it's good to try new things and then have a well rounded opinion. But I am usually thinking it too much and maybe I'm missing all the fun. :)

I have no problem with the medical use of cannabis but don't think smoking it is the best approach as it damages the respiratory system even as it relieves other symptoms. Brownies, on the other hand, are good for the mind and the medical need.

@Cristi_Ichim they aren't hurting your brain..they help the ailment and relax you...give you the munchies... The main reason people die of cancer isn't the cancer its that people have no desire to eat anymore and then get like a skeleton..so basically they die from starvation. if they have MJ in any form but prefer brownies..they want to eat so it keeps them healthier and stronger to fight the illness..

That's great news. Back in the olden days when I was a youth, I remember the word was if you smoke pot, don't do it in Texas. You may end up in prison for life. I haven't used it for my pain, but I know it's helped huge numbers of medical patients with various conditions and don't understand any of the arguments against it.
