Even if we move it around, I still hate it

The Boy has a week before summer vacation ends. Because he will be off soon to the hallowed halls of academia soon, I am trying to get all the work out of him that I can. That includes getting some things moved around and some things thrown out. First, I must confess that I hate all of my furniture. I own only one chair that I, myself, bought, and even that is a disappointment. But I guess I don't hate that one. So, I hate most of my furniture, but even the chair I don't hate could be gone and I wouldn't miss it. Anyway, I had this theory that I could move the furniture around to a new configuration and it wouldn't look so ugly. Well, that worked to an extent. That is, the new configuration would look great with nicer furniture. Have you ever looked at a piece of furniture that you use daily but hate so much that you'd just as soon throw it out a window and sit on the floor?

We've got some furniture we dislike, but as we're hoping to move in the not too distant future, now doesn't seem like the right time to change it.

I think it I move again I will just pay someone to haul it all away instead of take it with me. We can sit on inflatable furniture for awhile/

@Rollo1 That would certainly simplify moving, but unfortunately we've got a lot of stuff we want to keep, some of our furniture included. I wish I didn't get so attached to things.

I am blessed that I love or at least like my furniture. Much of it belonged to loved ones.

I have a couple of things that were built by my father, but they are in need of refinishing. Everything else can go.

Oh yes our two recliners is all we have for furniture and they are really bad shape. I would get rid of them in a heartbeat but nothing to replace. No amount of moving would help. I sometimes think to cover them with something nice, but I tried that before and the slips kept falling off..no good. We are in bad need of decent furnishings here.

Oh you poor thing, I have been there and done that. But at present time, I would have to say no, for all my furniture in my house is new, and specifically picked out for the house.

I need to experiment on different configurations to make my house look better and get a fresh perspective from it. I just need to find the strength to do it.

I wouldn't mind new furniture because mine is old but I can stand it. My Mum and I both used to move furniture about in our respective homes. Dad used to say he had to keep moving around the house for fear he might get chucked out.

The furniture in the house that I live is not that great either but I don't get frustrated about it

No, I really don't hate any of the furniture. The problem for me is I have way too many and I really need to get rid of stuff.. but I keep collecting. Most of it is carved wooden furniture. I just love them.

We bought all our furniture when we bought the house 16 years ago. I am lucky I still love everything we bought, except the curtains in our bedroom. This is something I can fix easily.
