Barber Shops?

Ft. Worth, Texas

How many of you guys remember the Barber Shops of old? I just went and got my hair cut. At a chain beauty shop. What has happen to the just plain old Barber Shops? Where you could go and, yes get a hair cut, but hang out with your friends and just set around and shot the breeze. They were more of a social club. I don't think there are any around where I am at anymore. Ah, the good old days.

Now not really, but it was just a thought as I set and waited. I was remembering the old days. Old men do that kind of thing. When life was simpler, and a little more layed back. The musing of the so called Good old days. If they were that good.

I think it all depends on the area. My husband regularly goes to one when he gets his hair cut. He likes them over the other options in town because they always get the cut right and the barber is always careful to avoid nicking the moles on his head. I couldn't tell you if they're like a social club, since I always go browse through the nearby stores while he's getting his hair cut.
