Do you hate getting up in the morning when it is still dark?

I woke up early today as I have work 8am, so this is the first time I had to wake up so early in a few weeks. Having to wake up early is bad enough without having to get up when it is still so dark outside! It confuses my mind, making me think it is night time not time to wake up for work.

I hate winter because most of the time it is dark outside! I love sunny days and I really hate to wake up and see that there is no light outside.

I like winter but not the early mornings. I am lucky I only have to get up that early once a week.

@Gudheart,you reminded me of my father who was an early riser. He would make me get up as early as 4 a.m.Gradually it became my habit to get up before dawn, pray, take some physical exercises and leave for college that was in a town 50 kms from ours. But those days are gone now.Now I am a late sleeper and a late riser.

@gudheart One thing. If you develop the habit of sleeping early, you will automatically begun getting up early in the morning.Take your dinner and go to bed around 9 p.m.I don't think you would then need an alarm clock to leave bed before dawn.

I guess I could get used to it if I was to do it on a regular basis, but I would still prefer sleeping in.

It was so hard for me before, but I am used with it since I need to wake early in the morning to go to work. It is 14 kms. far from the place I live and 3 rides before reaching there

I am always up between 4-5am so I'm used to it being dark outside. I have noticed that our days are slowly getting shorter.

@gudheart That was the part I hated the most when I worked. It was dark when I arrived and it was dark when I left.

I am a night person and it was always really hard for me to get up and go to work. Coffee please!! I got addicted to Lattes. I am now retired and I get up to help my daughter get her son off to school but I don't have to get up. I usually get on here. Am glad to be retired.

It is hard to wake up when it's still dark. I can see why it's a bit confusing. Our brains are trained to know that dark means sleep and light means awake.
