Backing Up Online Stuff...

Well I like having a record of my online activity. Good thing you can download your own Twitter and Facebook activities right? Since blogs and other websites don't have that feature and myLot doesn't have it yet I always download back ups. For my myLot discussions I save them after a few days. I even save some discussions that I responded to sometimes. Do you back up your online activities too?

I used to keep a copy of all my Bubblews posts but I don't do that on here. I have all my articles and such on a thumb drive and all my pictures on another one.

I only back up my own discussions... I'd like to back up all my responses here but I don't think that's possible. Good thing you have a thumb drive then. Hope it doesn't get lost because it's small.

When I was chatting on IRC long ago, I was keeping all the logs. Nowadays I save rarely my online activities. I did it for Bubblews, where I mirrored completely my posts with wget (a kind of web spider). I should perhaps do it for myLot once a year...

Was that mIRC? Is there a way to back up chat logs there? I didn't know that. I do it for all my accounts because I treat them like my online diary or something.

I never know that we can download the facebook activity. How can we do that? please share to me. I am interested to learn it. If you do blog at blogspot or wordpress you can backup your post by download it from the setting then if you like to post again just export back your post. Blog use blogspot some how i think safe because i try left my blog there for many years it still appear there too. For mylot i not backup it, i think mylot always save it too

I actually make my posts in word . Then i would copy and paste it to Mylot . The moment it if published , i copy and paste its link to my word document . That serves as my file .

I don't back up anything at the moment. My computer is old and it looks like it's going to be permanently damaged soon. I have made copies of photos and important documents but I don't keep track of my online activities. It's nice that you are so well organized. If I was keeping online backups, I would do it for a few days and then I would forget it.

Oh, I hope you get a new computer soon. Maybe if you have a designated external drive you can save your online activities there if you want. I also don't have enough time to do back ups so I only do them when I remember to.

@besweet Well I just want some of them kept safe. Not like I'm gonna share it with the world someday or something. It's just for personal safekeeping. I know nothing is forever but it's nice to have them safe even if hard drives may not last forever too. Hope you get a good external HD.

@owstalaga My computer is supposed to have the hard disk seperated in two parts, to back up everything on the second half. That's what I was doing until I was informed that if the hard disk is damaged then everything is gone. I am planning to get an external disk to save my files. What can you do with your online activity after it's saved? I didn't think I would use any of this in the future so I haven't done back up on my writings.
