Do you prefer travelling alone or with someone?

I love solo travelling blended with photography. Every year, I try to travel to 1 to 3 foreign countries. Discovery is my passion. I bring stories few have to tell. I don't like being accompanied when I travel. I pack everything and travel with a free spirit. Solo travel heals me. I don't even book hotels and lodges. I don't even book a car in advance, even if it's the first time I am visiting a country. I plan almost nothing. I lose myself and in the process of losing myself, I find myself. This is how I define adventure in the real sense of the word. There is much meaning in not knowing where to go and in allowing your steps to guide you. I am travelling to India for almost the whole of November and I will be doing so many road trips. I'll be covering many places including Mumbai, Lonavla, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam. I can't wait for November to come. Do you prefer travelling alone or with someone else? What best memories do you have of a solo travel you ever did? How has solo travel helped you?

It would be nice if i have someone with me like my husband when i travel . But if he can't come , i can always travel alone . But not on those very distant place though . I am scared to travel alone when it's that far , although when i was younger i always do that .

Thank you for your response. I like when you said that you can always travel alone but there are some limits always.

@SIMPLYD I'm sorry to say I think we, humans, we tend to forget that we came alone and we have to go back alone too. We tend to be too much dependent on others. We tend to forget that we deserve our own time to celebrate our own existence too. While it's true that maybe I will travel with my partner in the future, it's truer that I will be making many and many solo trips until I exist.

When I used to travel a lot in Europe and India I always enjoyed doing so alone. Solo travel lets you think and appreciate and explore a lot more than having to cooperate with a companion.

I agree. It's a way to find yourself, your space and your purpose. I love solo traveling.

Any specific reason for willing to be accompanied by someone? And you wish to be accompanied by your friends or family members?

I prefer traveling with someone. I don't have a sense of direction so it's better if I travel with someone, lol. I also like traveling with friends because I think it's more fun.

Thank you for your response. Try traveling solo someday. There's a unique kind of meaning in that.

I do not like to travel alone, I like to have my husband with me. We share the same passion of photography, so it's a pleasure to share our different points of view and our impressions about the places we are visiting.

But do you think it will be totally impossible to travel alone? Don't you want to at least try it?

@LadyDuck I understand. It's a matter of perception and experience after all. On this one, I am completely your opposite. I love solo travel. I can't see myself traveling with others; even if it's a family member.

I understand for a lady it may not be that easy to travel alone as it is for a man but I think with some planning and by respecting all necessary measures of precautions, you can make it. Though I would still ask any lady to be very careful while traveling alone. Seriously.

I love photography and if you go through all the snaps I have taken during my solo travels, you will be speechless. I never needed someone to take awesome pictures of mine. I just stopped by, opened up to people, explained them some basic photography tips and I had the best pictures ever.
